Currently sitting at 27” front and 26.5” rear on 315/17/r17’s. Custom spring pack in the rear with rcd front lift.

 

Stock size tires. 5100 Bilstein shocks on 4 corners, set at lowest adjustment with Old Man Emu 2884 coil springs up front. Diff drop kit, no after market UCAs. Just over 100 miles on this suspension setup so coil springs could settle some.

So you got 2" of lift in the rear with the new leaf packs? Truck looks great!

 

Thanks! Yep, 2" lift above stock height with about 250-300lbs in the rear. My stock springs were starting to sit at 21-21.5" hub to fender so the lift felt bigger than 2"

Bilstein 6112 on highest recommended (I believe 8 driver, 6 passenger) with 3/8 spacer each side, 700lb springs, solo LCA, JBA UCA, BFF bumper with xrc 9.5 (not installed yet added 80lb dumbell when I measured)
Rear 23in
Bilstein 5160s with stock leafs (worn but not enough to replace just yet, wheelers AAL, overload left in, 3° axle shim, snugtop canopy.

Tires 285/75R16 on stock wheels with 1.25in spacer front and 1in rear.
No rubbing, stock mudflaps, barely trimmed liners (to fit BFF bumper) no rubbing with stock bumper either, even when offroad.

As it sits now, pre-alignment, 7-8 miles into shakedown, no touching coilovers, old tires and wheels installed.

So the front is an inch lower after the lift?

 

Not unless I reversed some numbers. You talking about 1s, 2nd, or 3rd set?

Things settled out about 1/2-3/4" between getting it off the jacks (2nd set of numbers) and driving around all over the bumpy ass streets of ATL (3rd set of numbers).

 

I must have read that wrong. Swore it said 23.5 for your starting front drivers. Makes more sense looking at it again. Apparently….

 

I had a typo but I fixed it about 10 seconds after posting and seeing I copy/pasted some numbers wrong. I think you saw it pre-edit, Quick Draw McGraw!

Did you get a level and attempt to adjust the SPCs camber? What did you set the caster to?

I haven't touched anything other than using the slot on the UCA to get the camber to a more-neutral position. It could be I lack understanding, but given I'm not touching the stock TRE/LBJ/cams in any way, and the UBJ having a fixed fwd/bwd position, I can't really do anything except adjust camber. My whole goal was to get it driveable so I can run it up to a shop I know that's well versed in custom alignments with the install I chose, same shop is installing tires, balancing, reprogramming TPMS and I'll have them once-over everything for an extra hour of labor because I don't have experienced eyes where I am otherwise to sorta doublecheck my work, since this is ultimately my DD. It's the only thing that sucks about living in the city. Nobody around me seems to be mechanically-familiar, and the ones that are primarily geek out on rat rods, hot rods, or ricemobiles.

 

You can do caster by way of the ubj too. I assume it's set to neutral all around then. That's a good starting point. When you get bigger tires you may want to adjust the caster forward to help em fit. That's what I love most about SPCs

 

Oh sorry, I forgot you can clock the UBJ.

I followed SPC's instructions, clocked the UBJ to "D". But instead of sliding the UBJ to center, if you were to mark the UCA slot with a "1" at the farthest-from-spring point, and a "4" at the closest-to-spring point of the slot, then equally spaced numbers 2 and 3 in between, I landed on roughly a 2 on the passenger side, and a solid 2.75 on the driver's side to get me in a ballpark alignment with the new setup.

I'll let the guys at the shop with their fancy machines manage the fine-tuning.

I saw Josh over at 1st Gen Offroad called out setting to "A" in his video, and sliding the UBJ all the way to what I would call the "1" position (as close to tire as possible), but I didn't want to go there.

 

I just followed the video I posted and used a level to get in dead center and set my caster all but one notch forward to clear my 295's.
The alignment guys told me I almost nailed it. They didn't need to do much adjusting. Felt good.

 

Update: Got rid of the Icon AAL + overload setup. It was squeaking like hell where the AAL clamp's rivet was digging into the overload.

Installed ATS heavy duty springs (p/n: 90-221HD), which set me back a whopping $500 shipped, and I landed me in @805Tundra's ballpark.

Oh, and I think if I'd have been on level ground and taken my pic more on-center, you'd see the rake. I'm sitting at ~1" rake when measured on level ground.

My current ground-to-fender measurements after the new tires and new leaf packs:

Driver rear: 39.75"
Pass front: 38.5"

Does it ride any better with new leaf packs? I've never seen gaps like that between springs. It sure does look good though.

 

It's weird, it's less harsh than the OEM + AAL w/overload, but it also feels like it springs back faster after bumps/dips. Closest thing we have to washboards where I am are the sections of road where busses stop to sit with hot tires, which creates series of divots in the asphalt, and it seemed to do really well with those on the half dozen spots I hit with them. It responded really well on the bricked roads I hit and with potholes. I'll loop back with you after I've had more time with it.

Can you please explain what you mean by measurements? Distance between tire and fender?
