It's going to end up cracking your grille. I'd take it off if its moving around so much. Westcott was the first to report grilles cracking with an aftermarket bar in the grille w/o a support brackets. Really surprising that DD hasn't come out with something.

Yeah. Been telling myself to remove it but just been lazy. Thinking of removing and placing down in the bumper.

Correct me if I'm wrong. The BD bracket looks to be the same as the DD bracket. Is it just a weight difference in the bar itself? I have an amber DD on my lower grille just below the foglight bar and it is solid and bright!

Its similar concept...not the same. The BD bracket also includes support brackets to hold up the bar's weight. The DD relies on the grille itself to support all the weight where the BD does not.

Luckily I don't have any issues with mine at all...Use the light bar a decent amount and it does not bounce at all. I will say, I did look at the BD light bar and it looks really good. I just couldn't justify spending almost $1000 on a light bar when I would probably only use it 30% of the time. Not to mention Ive got several projects going on right now (driveway addition, building a lean too on the shop, etc.) in addition to getting my truck looking like it should.

Reviving this old thread: has anyone been able to confirm the bracket above (part 52141-0C080) fits behind the DD light bar for support and in front of the grille shutters without any further modifications? I seem to remember someone mentioning the 6 bolts that keep the grille shutters in place need to be lengthened or something along those lines? I ALMOST have all my parts lined up but I don’t want to tackle this project and then leave the front off because I wasn’t fully prepared. Thanks!

I'd like to know this as well. Ive got the DD light bar with the Heritage grille and a little extra support for the grille would be nice,

Ok! Took one for the team and can confirm my project is not done as I had hoped. That OEM bracket for the light bar seems like it would provide support for the DD lightbar but it bumps the active shutters back about 1.75 inches requiring longer bolts and likely some 1.5 inch nylon spacers as well to help support. It looks like there is enough room behind the shutters to accommodate but I’m not positive. Hate to think I bought the $85 bracket that won’t work with anything other than OEM light bar (which I don’t want) and then I STILL need to go with BD kit if I want it to fit properly in front of the shutters without significant adjustments…

Oh well! For now enjoy the pic below with no grill light bar installed :(

    Looks great!

I’m assuming those are OEM marker lights. Did you get them hooked up? If so, what did you use for wiring?

They are OEM and they fit perfectly. Unfortunately they are still just place holders until I can locate the harness that plugs into the back of each light (it seems to be non-existent - Toyota aint sharin' it). I'm tossing around the idea of wiring directly to the pins somehow and being sure to waterproof thoroughly with heatshrink and electrical tape. Then I can tap into the fog light fuse as soon as I can find it.

From what I’ve read somewhere on this forum, the TRD PRO fender flare light shares the same connector as the grill so this might work?

Someone can correct me but my solution 7 months ago was buying each part individually. The trailhunters link above has 3d printed connectors that fit perfectly. I DID have to make my own harness which I plugged into an add-a-circuit to the passenger side fuse box. Basically it boiled down to sourcing parts from 4 different locations. (Grille, OEM light piece with marker lights attached, connectors, and then my own wiring and add-a-fuse taps)

You might know, is the OEM marker light piece VIN restricted? (I got mine off eBay)

Diode Dynamics has added 2 brackets that attach to the bottom and the top of the light bar bracket. Call them and tell them and they might send those to you for free, they did it for me. So far, customer service is great. Ask for Griffin.

DD has additional upper and lower brackets for the light bar now. Stiffens everything up quite nicely.

I am curious what the issue with Rave Off Road was. I am not familiar with the acronym “CCC.” Can anyone tell me what happened to get them banished from Tundras.com? Just curious, thats all. By the way, I bought the OEM Legacy Grille kit from them that came with the TRD Pro marker lights, and the fuse tap to wire it up. I called them and emailed them a few times and every time they were very nice and helpful. The grille kit got shipped to me very fast and no issues at all with them. I know a few other people that have had good experiences with them also, so I’d say they are a good supplier.

FYI: DD now has upper and lower support brackets as well as a new camera bracket and when I installed them with the light bar I was amazed how stiff it is. Give them a call, they will work with you. Great customer support!

Rave got booted because they launched their first product for the new Tundra back in 2022 then posted about it on a tundras.com forum before getting vendor approvals from the admins. The admins proceeded to boot them with no warning, didn't even give them a chance to get approvals, make it right or anything. Didn't respond to messages. Ryan sells stuff on ebay using Rave's product photos and basically just takes any chance to spread lies and hate on Rave.

You forgot the part where Daniel (Rave) sold us pieces of junk. He never disclosed it was a 3d printed part, didnt mention that the markers were not sealed and would get water/dirt in them and then refused to refund our money.

"3D printed" was literally in the product title lol my order from 2022 has "3D printed series" on my invoice. Mine got condensation and Rave sent a replacement even outside of the 1 yr warranty. I've since upgraded to the OEM marker lights but at the time that's all that was available.
