    I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
    It is definitely marketed towards torque for towing....but a side effect is that the MPG WILL in some way improve. Stop and go is a huge fuel efficiency killer. Guess what the motor will do normally when you're stopped? Shuts off. Guess what happens when you lightly push the throttle...you enter prius mode until you push hard. You can remain slowly cruising up to speed in prius mode and I fucking love it. Obviously you can't do that if you're in los angeles or you'll be in a gunfight. Also when you're maintaining a speed without an incline or hard load, motor will shut off and any light throttle will be using battery. That's awesome.

    In whack ass washington state, for some reason vehicles above 6000LB don't have to pay RTA tax (busy I5 corridor tax). Guess what it says on the registration of my Turd Pro? 6010LB.

    This was a major suspicion for me when reading threads of people rolling into traffic about to get t-boned. It may seem that the tundra naturally expects some battery power to assist. I'm not an engineer though.

    I just made a 40 mile trip to Bass pro and back. Trip average was 23.8 both ways.

    There is minor as in hardly noticeable, turbo boost lag then there is the random dead gas pedal issue. They are two different things. The dead pedal issue is random and only happened to a few members. It only happen to me once. It isn’t a hybrid vs non hybrid issue.

    Trust me, I've been at a dealer for various complaints about 6 times in the past year.

    They finally fixed the whistling noise from the driver window seal...

    Truck is normal.. It's just a 2022

    I forgot that some SR5s have the 32 gallon tank. Maybe it is part of the convenience package option.

    Any non-hybrid over 6k lb would be exempt as well. Crewmax with sunroof, LT tires, and a skid plate would do it.

    My opinion.
    When the Hybrid came out I thought WTH there is no "Better Mileage" so whats the point. I have since come around and for the following reason. Engine Longevity. There is the most wear on take off. If I was looking to get a new Tundra and planned on keeping it long term past warranty. Hybrid. The battery components have long warranties and are I assume interchangeable for new ones ......unless battery tech changes so much (and it will) that the current config becomes obsolete. Will Toyota still make these parts if that happens ?

    and if it is a warranty buy, 3 year type of thing ownership then flip it - just get the one you prefer. It won't be for saving money on gas as others have said. When I test drove two non Hybrids - I found it to be a really heavy vehicle much heavier than the I.e. F150 truck, for the 3.4 liter without the turbos engaged.

    I'm in this same position. Looking at which 2024 or 2023 to get. You can still get great deals on 2023 models. Like there is a platinum 4x4 with long bed without hybrid they are selling for $63k. and they have a hybrid 4x4 they are selling for $67k. When you start looking at Limiteds to build out they are going to be that price or more. If I do a limited I would do a 2024 TRD not a 2023 because of all the paint matched body trim pieces. it just looks so much better. If you want 4x4 but don't need the niche features of the locking rear diff then I would say try to find you a 2023 platinum or SR5 loaded up. Dealers are making great deals right now on them.

    Are you going to lift the truck and what kind, if you want to do like a 3" the TRD package has the better front axles that you don't need to replace. If you want a small lift and a level, just get any truck. I mean I have a 2018 with a LSD and have been able to get out of everything, snow, mud. etc.

    Are you going to tow? this is I think really the only reason to get a hybrid. Like others have said the truck gets about the same gas mileage. however the additional power when towing is nice and it's less strain on the drivetrain itself, so you will have better gas mileage when towing. Also putting around town you might get a little better gas mileage. but it would be negligible. on the hwy from what I've read and I have friends with both trucks it's about the same. There companies out there with just some tunes being able to get a lot more Hp out of the standard non hybrids. And turbo lag is for people that have no clue to drive their trucks. lol. Sorry I've had a supra with 900 hp and turbo lag is just a state of mind when you're used to driving a V8.

    But the limited with the heated and ventilated seats are nice for sure! I live in TX and the ventilated seats would be welcomed! plus I do lots of sports and long drives so the heated seats are a nice touch too.

    Like everyone else said, go drive them and see the difference! you can feel it. and if that is what makes you happy, then go for that! It's about a $3k difference when you look at the trucks. if you tow I think it would be worth it, if you drive around town in lots of stop and go, it may help a tiny bit.

    I did this yesterday. Both were nice, but the hybrid adds that low end torque which I need for towing my boat. I put a deposit down on a blueprint crewcab w/ 6.5' bed due for delivery in 41 days.

    The Max gives you less payload capacity with the additional weight of batteries, electric motor and components. So if you want or need higher payloads look into that. There’s a video on YouTube where they compare max vs regular iForce and they are basically the same on 0-60 times and in certain results the normal iforce was quicker likely due to weight savings. The Max will benefit under heavier towing load to get to speed a little easier with the extra torque from the electric motor below the truck.
