I’d bet they’ll fit, but not so sure it’s the best plan. You’re looking at some pretty high end shocks here, so why leave the stock/weak/limiting UCAs? I get that the money adds up, but it would be a disservice.
Several quality options out there for not a huge ticket price!

Totally agree here. Bilstien and Built Right make UCAs that work great with this Shock. the original 8112 actually had a uca reqthat called out these two UCAs and a third I do not recall

Any quality UCA for our trucks should be fine. Just because they're listing two specific models doesn't mean that several others aren't just as appropriate. Lots of good options...

Screen Shot 2023-08-24 at 3.58.28 PM.png Thanks for the input. I appreciate the benefits of an aftermarket UCA but would prefer to use the stock one if possible. Is there a clearance issue with the stock UCA and the 8112 coil over assembly including the hose for the remote reservoir? It looks like the 2015 Tundra TRD Pro that was prepped for Baja has 3 inch diameter coils over 2.5 remote reservoir shocks with the stock UCA and LCA. They fabricated inner fenders with way more clearance and ran the hose for the remote reservoir. Also, the 'stock LCA' somehow has a triple bypass shock attached to it.

In summary, I bet it would be tighter that a _____ if you were able to fit the coil over and hose in the stock UCA and it would likely rub.

Mid September is sooooo long away. Not really but it feels that way with me having all these other parts sitting around awaiting the arrival of the 8112s. How about them Bilstein UCAs? They on a waiting list as well??? I got my N-Fab M-RDS bumper installed already and fixing to pull the trigger on rims and tires to have on hand and ready as well.

 I know it is. It's the worst feeling!

The UCAs are delayed for some silly reason, but we're expecting a reload here soon.

I run an Icon Stage 8 kit, Billet Delta joint UCA for instance. The UCA gets greased ever 3K miles.

Fox, Icon, King etc shocks could need a rebuild ever 10K-40K miles or every 100K depends on use.

I love my truck, I love the way it rides etc, I am aware of how much maintenance my truck needs now, and how much more it will need in the future. its a labor of love.

A lot of waste for stock width in my opinion.

Just curious, is there any difference in the UCA when going to long travel?

A long travel suspension will have longer UCA, LCA, and tie rods. 4X4 will also need longer axles. The longer parts allow for longer travel from the original pivot points. The track width for a long travel IFS is increased by 5 inches minimum.

Well I ended up ordering ADS 2.5 clicker reservoirs and SPC adjustable UCAs for the front and ADS clicker reservoirs for the back with Dobinson leaf springs. I plan on either a BMC or cab mount relocation depending on how the 37s fit.

I’m still curious how the Bilstein 8112s work out for you guys.

Thank both of you, I was originally dead set on staying mid travel, I might have to consider long travel someday.

With “It’s easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission” being a close second…

I’m two days away from being married to the same lady for 25 years, and this is the most important thing I’ve learned in that time.

Hello other Tundra driving some of the same New Mexico routes! I have a Gen2 and had the same issues when building my own truck to replace grabbing a company 4x4 for our state’s 75% unpaved roads.

I too had the longish wait but back then I went 6112 front and 5160 rears. I removed the 20’s and put on 17” Rock Warriors with 34’s with a fair amount of protection underneath. I love the ride off-road but not so much on our concrete highway seams…better everywhere though and no issues.

I look forward to seeing how your higher budget build goes and maybe driving next to it to compare for future thoughts. I used to be a Bilstein rep and rebuild some so it wasn’t too hard of a decision after reading reviews here. Sorry for the late reply.

photo is pre-sliders and black plastics etc.

Well, I installed the custom tuned 8100's on the back of the tundra and man oh man let me tell you.....The difference between them and my kings is night and day. The adjustability on compression and rebound is actually felt in the seat unlike the mid speed compression adjuster on the kings. Also the 8100's are about 2" longer than the kings giving me more down travel which is a huge plus. Im very pleased with them and cant wait to get my 8112's in. Im holding out for the dsa+ at the moment and hoping they become available this month.

when you say custom tuned…do you mean for a tundra in general or your specific tundra??

If you’re saying night and day between this and kings I can’t even imagine the difference I will see between the $125 eibach rear shock.
