I havent, and a portable compressor is much less than a new suspension. I'll give it a shot.

Wash board roads are deadly to stock suspension, I'll definitely let everybody know of how the setup works for me

No sir I have not aired down, but upgrades are in the works amd already paid for. When I get my 18s switched from the stock 20s I'll probably air down a bit to add smoothness to the Bilsteins, so I will air down eventually.

FWIW, this is the video that sold me...

Havent really looked into much else besides the 8112s. The claim of no annual rebuild and price point have them right where I'd like to be.

Same here brother, I rack up 50 to 60k a year in miles, so more time in between rebuilding was what I was looking for first and foremost

I probably will. Unfortunately, I had one truck totaled already this year, and I lost every penny of that suspension on it, tires, etc. It had 18,000 on the truck, a tad under 14,000 on the suspension.
So, I'm very much aware of what happens when someone wrecks into you. It could all happen again, haha.

Kings have performed great, however my weight has substantially increased so i need more adjustability and custom
Valving. I can’t afford downtime, my kings have taken a beating from corrosion even with weekly washings. Just trying to obtain a better quality ride. Sending the kings off to be rebuilt and then they will be up for sale of the Bilstein perform as expected.

I'm holding out for the new ones as well. Colton at Hotshot Offroad has already ordered them for me, just playing the waiting game for them to be shipped from Bilstein. Come on already, I ain't got much life left in the tires I have and can't the bigger tires I want without the suspension

what size tires are you planning? You can absolutely make nearly every sized wheel and tire and OEM ride height. Suspensions move…and they move up and down right through where your current ride height is at…so if you can’t fit them in OEM orientation, then you should come up with a game plan…

I'm planning on 35/12.5/17s on 17"s with 0 offset, but would love 37s if it's plausible with the bilstein set up I'll be running. Just don't know if the ability to run 37s would with this setup would require a more specific offset. Not worried about trimming and bmc

    This, 100%.

Technically you could lower a Tundra and run 37s with proper clearance.

the shocks won’t make any difference on clearance. The only thing in the suspension that would have any impact on clearance is the UCA. If the UCA you get induces too much artificial caster, and is not adjustable, that can be hard to overcome.

Just go get some giant tires and start cuttin. Although if you want 0 offset, check the shoulder profile and articulate the suspension to see exactly where you need to cut. I found a warehouse loading ramp near my house so I could go articulate and trim, articulate and trim. That’s how I came up with the instructions in my build thread (someplace).

Hey man any update on the status of the new 8112’s? I spoke with Ian about them at wheel every weekend and he has no eta on them. And he’s getting one of the first sets to test/video being that he works so close with Bilstein.

While I can't speak for anyone else, we ordered some of these into Hotshot Offroad here the day that the SKU went live. I've talked with Bilstein multiple times since then, and the ETA that we have been given for all of our outstanding Tundra 8112 orders is mid-Sept. We have gotten our shipments of 8100s though, and as a result customers have those.

can you run the 8112 with JBA upper control arms? I’m a believer in you get what you pay for. Is the juice worth the squeeze to upgrade from eibach pro truck front coil over and rear shocks which I am hugely disappointed with?

    - can you run the 8112 with JBA upper control arms? - Yes, 100%. No reason to switch away from them if they are in good health. They'll do the job.
    - Is the juice worth the squeeze to upgrade from eibach pro truck front coil over and rear shocks which I am hugely disappointed with? Swapping from Eibach Pro Trucks to Bilstein 8112s? They're a BIG improvement. Beat on them... They'll hold up, and ride well doing so.

What don't you like about your Eibachs? Which Stage do you have? 1, 2, or 2R?

Thanks for the responses. I have the 2.0. The shock and coil over bodies are so badly corroded, the adjusters are completely seized. The ride was nice at first but now very stiff and just jars over every bump…like there is no travel or they bottom out. Just very disappointed in them. I don’t mind spending the money. I have to assume a $1200 shock is drastically better than a $125 shock. Or at least I’m hoping so!

This is the route I went. The great thing is that literally nothing else needs to be changed. They work with OEM rims and UCAs. Bolt it on, get your truck aligned, and go.

You can run 295/70R18 or 285/75R18 tires. I run the latter, and I only had to remove the little mud flaps in front of the front wheel. No re-forming the wheel well plastic or anything like that. I added the RAS HD system in the rear for little to no sag when loaded down. It also articulates well off road and acts like a rear sway bar on pavement.

Thanks for the reply, Do you happen to know what spring rate is on the Tundra 8112's? I know bilstein uses a metric spring but heard it equates to a little over 700lbs.

I am considering the 8112's and have seen claims that they will lift the front 2.25 inches minimum. I have also been told that the stock UCA's will work fine and proper alignment can be achieved if the increase in height is less than 3 inches. Is it possible to install the Bilstein 8112 coil overs and keep the stock UCA? Does the stock UCA have enough clearance for the coil and the remote reservoir hose?
