Alpine ILX-F511. Game Changer

Double check your yellow RCA from the vehicle harness adapter is plugged into "rev/cam1" break out RCA and it is fully seated into the H/U.

 

Ok still nothing - screen is black with guidelines

Shawn, try turning your dash cam on when you’re going in reverse. Should be able to see what’s behind you clear as day!

Anyways...if it is the camera feed from the truck, you're currently inputing the signal into the "drive recorder" input, which is used for Alpine's DashCam..

in the box you should've received:



Use this and plug it into the the mating connector with the yellow identifier that says "rear camera" blue arrow...



then transfer the camera feed into the newly installed video adapter.

Well, something I try to remember is that this guy probably is like me - going to install his radio once and forget all about this stuff for forever because he'll never need it again. So I try to literally not sweat the small stuff, guy doesn't need a PhD in Automotive Acoustic Electrical Engineering

 

It was more so along the lines of directing him to pick up on the error and have the pride in figuring it all out on his own

 

I got it as soon as you made the first comment - note to all = do NOT assume all yellow rca’s are created equal and actually look at the packages sent with the head unit

Anybody know a way to shut off the grid lines on the backup camera feed?

My Chong Chong brand aftermarket camera has them baked in and now I have two sets of em. Previous headunit (also Alpine ILX series) had a setting to turn grid lines on/off. Not finding one here.

 

My RTFM moment came up with…

 

LAST FUCKING QUESTION - I can’t get hdmi to play. Parked with parking brake on, can get to the Amazon prime screen, have my mhl adapter connected to iPhone. Once the video starts playing the screen jumps back to the Home Screen. Any ideas?

 

What adapter(s) are you using? apple hates all non apple-ish.

 

Also, more than likely software related…I remember there was a wave of failures with apple software updates nerf features, might be worth a search on the google machine.

 

Yeah i was using a knockoff adapter. I ordered the apple brand one….will see if that works.

I got the apple adapter today; it will mirror the Amazon prime screen and pause when it starts playing. Once I hit play it defaults back to the Home Screen. Does it every time. So I know the feed is working but for some reason won’t allow me to play the video. Any ideas?
