that’s heavy for a 18 in wheel, expect a hit to mpg

check out the blackhorn bh01’s, poor man’s te37s and very very light

I’m debating on what to get. It’s between 20” vossen hf6 in satin black or the oem OR roads. But I also want to add pro fenders so the OR would need a spacer to make them sit right.

Are the oem or better quality? I would imagine they are heavier than the vossens. I’m super new to wheels.

if you were to pick (take looks out of it) would you choose oem with a 1” spacer or aftermarket hybrid forged?

I’ve also read spacers can cause issues with wear and tear in bearing etc compare to a different offset tire.

Lighter is always better and forged is better than cast for strength. Forged wheels tend to be more money than the cast wheels.

The TRD Pro wheels have a different offset which pushes them out further. The other OE wheels are around +60 offset so adding a 25mm spacer pushes the wheels out to about the same as the Pro wheels. I would go with the 18" Pro BBS wheels if I could find a set close to me. I am partial to BBS wheels. What I ended up with is a set of wheels that are metallic black flow formed wheels in 20" to put my Toyo's on. I am happy with the wheels but will always be on the lookout for some BBS Pro wheels.

I think the OE wheels would be fine with a spacer so long as it is a good quality one. The affects on the bearings will be about the same if you go with a spacer/OE setup or an aftermarket wheel.

The bbs are forged alloy, aren’t the 20” OR also forged alloy or are they cast??

and the vossens are hybrid forged, assuming alloy as well?

I personally want to keep 20’s on my pavement princess. you personally would you go with the vossens or the OR a/spacer (I’d go spidertrax)

I think the only forged Tundra wheels are the TRD Pro BBS wheels.

The Vossens come in forged and flow formed in the case of the HF6. The flow formed wheels are lighter and stronger than cast and usually more affordable than forged wheels. Sort of like a middle option for wheels. Cast -> Flow Formed -> Forged in that direction as the cost goes up and hopefully the quality follows that pattern! The Vossens look like a nice wheel!

The TRD off-road wheels are listed half of the places online as forged, and in other places cast. I’m fairly certain mine are forged

My OE wheels are the 18" ones that we get up here with the TRD offroad package. Mine are sitting in the carport and I don't really know what to do with them. There are several sets of these wheels for sale locally on CR for ~500 bucks and up to ~1,400 for tires and wheels. I don't think these ones are forged at that price. I think just one of the BBS Forged TRD Pro wheels would go for ~1,000 at the stealership.

    I have the HF6-4 in +30.
They are ~36 lbs for a 20" hybrid wheel.
If you dial in -0.3 offset or more it will be flush and tucked with pro fenders.
If you have factory alignment it will poke slightly due to these being a 9.5" wheel, and I have E-scorpions at 275/65R20.

Looks sharp. And much lighter than my plain Tim wheels. I was told the +15 9.5 would fit perfectly.

Thanks, but +15 will poke 1.5cm more than the +30, which already pokes 0.5 cm past a pro fender without negative camber.
The ideal offset for a 9.5 wheel would have been +40 imo

I dont like how the Platinum 20” stock whees and tires look. So i got some Vision Turbine 20” wheels and some 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grappler which i think are about 34” today. After all, they are between 1” and 1.5” poke which look fine to me. They are already touching the fender lines at full turn so i did not want to risk it by going 295/65/20 which is 35”. I dont believe they will look that different anyway. Since im not gonna do any lift in the near term. I think this set up work for now. Will try to take better pics soon

Hey guys have a 23 limited and am about to do a wescott 3” kit and I just was wondering who here has tan a 17x9 -30 or -38 offset on their tundra looking to do that with a 35x10.50. Also how much rub am I looking at with this setup I don’t mind doing some minor plastic trimming

Hey guys! I upgraded from a 2019 Tacoma to the 23 limited today and have a question.. I ran a level kit on the Tacoma and it looked great. That was 2” in front and 1” in back. From the small amount of time I’ve spent scanning tundra threads, it seems like most people are rolling with a 3” in front 1.5” in back lift. Is anyone running a level kit and if so, I’d love to see some pics!

-30 or -38!!? You won’t be able to turn. 0 offset puts it out 1.5” or so, SCS Wheels has their tundra wheels at +12 or so, Method +18, +35, or 0. Those negative numbers sound more like Tacoma offsets.

One of the + offsets above with a Westcott and you’ll be fine with 35’s, they aren’t really that big and don’t really fill the wheel well.

Examples are all over this site, this is just one thread. I run a 3/3 as I carry a lot of gear off road and keep a little rake unloaded

personally on the blueprint color, the black wheel arches vs the color matched ones you really cant tell very much unless in bright sunlight.

but then again, i hardly notice them either way.

yes it is more of a Tacoma offset and I’ve seen 1 or 2 tundras so far with that offset, I’ve also seen some tundras on 20x12 and 22x14 and so on which are all way higher then -30. I’m just wondering what all cutting would be needed. If it’s too much I’ll go -12

I have SCS -10 on my limited on 35x12.5’s. I have my Dobinsons set at 3”. I only had the typical rub that most people have from the fender liners and bracket that most people cut and remove.

I think @islandwolf has -38 SCS on 35’s and he should be the member than can truly chime in with real world experience.

But 10.5” wide tires may not even be that bad on a -38 offset setup.

yeah I’ve contacted him so we will see what all needs to be cut as long as I don’t have to do a cmc I think I’ll go with the -30 or -38 offset

From what ive seen so far only one dude has done it. I have seen a couple new ones on 22x14 and stuff like that which is also high offset but I’m not looking for big wheels looking to stay with a 17. I am fine with cutting as I have done on previous tundras and Tacomas. But would like to avoid cmc

Does anyone know what size 20” tire comes on the Optional Nitto RG Tire Upgrade from Toyota? Truck is a 2023 1794 edition. I looked on Toyota’s website but it does not say. I’m guessing it is 265/60/20.

I did find the answer to my question and they are 265/60/20 upgraded from Toyota as an option.

Updated look. Still no lift, level, etc.

I may get the King setup if anyone gets crazy with pricing during Cyber Week.

$600. The color was more than if I'd have gone with a normally stocked one.

I got the wheels dirt cheap off facebook marketplace, so I didn't mind.

This is the business that did it. They were great to deal with.

This is correct. Measures about a 1/2” under 33”. Great tire but I’d be way happier with them adding a 295/65/20 option.
