Alpine ILX-F511. Game Changer

Get the knob for the Alpine.

 

And put it anywhere because it’s Bluetooth

 

I really just wish someone made a head unit kit that fit in perfect using the areas where are the knobs and buttons are. Something like Alpine makes for the Wrangler. But, I know they sell gazillions of Wranglers and very few Tundra's. But, that's what I wish.

 

That thing has terrible reviews.

 

Sounds like if you turn it before powering up it works well. But I have zero experience with it, personally.

My suggestion is to change it to the h/u install thread in general as much of it is cross compatible with most other brands…including the superior Kenwoods

Everything works, and that includes SiriusXM (you don't need iDatalink ACC-SAT-TO2 and SiriusXM SXV300 if you don't want sirius, which saves you $67.97). If your truck doesn't have factory Sirius antenna then you don't need these two items either - you need the same tuner but with antenna - it is a little bit more expensive on Amazon.

Forgot to add - PAC TR-7 was also purchased from ebay for $23.99 to allow setup menu access without having to use a brake.

I've just added PAC TR-7 to the list. No link, bought the cheapest/fastest one from ebay.

 

Ok I am at a loss - I have everything connected and working except it will not connect to Apple CarPlay. It says that my gos antenna needs to be installed first. The adapter from my ilx-f309 doesn’t fit. Is there a specific gos adapter for this model? Maestro is flashed and everything is working as it should otherwise

 

It comes with a gps antenna, just plug it into the back of the stereo and stick it up under the dash towards the windshield

 

Isn’t there an adapter that I can get to plug directly into the back of the receiver and maintain the factory antenna?

 

Not with this model of Alpine, unfortunately.

Does not activate when shifting in reverse; screen stays on Home Screen. Ads-more module and just reflashed

 

Did you tie the reverse trigger to the output of the module?

Main Alpine Harness "Violet w/ white stripe" connected to Module "Puple w/white stripe?

 

There’s a setting in the Camera menu that you need to toggle to turn the rear camera input on.

 

So I called crutchfield - they told me
I could use the same harness I had for
Ilx-f309 that I am replacing. Backup camera worked fine on that

 

I believe you turn the camera mode on in settings, from what I’ve read in other posts.
