New to the forum - I’ve had two 2WD ‘06 access cabs with V6. What, if any, Gen 1 years were there 4WD access cabs with V6. I want to stay with a smaller engine and am open to full four door but don’t want the V8 and am assuming a V6 wouldn’t carry a four door well (so I’m open to settling for a V6 4WD access).

Hello, and welcome to the forum. This thread will probably answer a lot of your questions, and save you a ton of grief while shopping: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

    Please check it out.

Access Cab trucks were made for the full range of '00-'06. Double Cab started later on, and I'm fairly certain was exclusively V8.

For V6, there was an engine change (and small change for V8) in the '05-'06 years, but you can still get V6 for all years.

V6 came in manual and auto, and I think - I'm not certain - 2WD and 4WD. However, that link up there ^^ does have a link to brochures and catalogs to confirm, round about the 4th or 5th line in the 1st reply, along with other docs.

Enjoy, and check back on this thread if you have questions.

You can research a little more, but there have been some guys on here saying fuel economy isn’t that different between the 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder motors in ours trucks. Totally fine if that’s what you want/need, but no need limiting yourself on availability if you find a nice V-8 that otherwise ticks your boxes.
