Apparently it's on national backorder. Part number is 47703-0C020 (for the larger calipers). I'm trying to avoid putting the old bent up one back on since it's not an easy access part once I press the hub in. Any suggestions on where to look? Thanks....

Every dealership I've ever been to in the Atlanta area has been able to quickly look in the computer and see which local area dealerships (I've got at least 10 within 45 miles) has a part in inventory. I had to use this a few weekends back on a Saturday at 3pm to get an UBJ castle nut. I called my regular dealership parts guy, and they didn't have it, but he told me a dealership nearby had 2, and a dealership south of me had 6.

If you've called a local dealership and asked them for that part and they've told you they don't have it, it's on backorder, it's on backorder. You're pretty much stuck unless you order from overseas. Else limited to "un-connected" dealerships (my parents have one a few miles from them), or taking a big risk getting white box/generic/fake BS off fleaBay or scAmazon.

BTW, you know what a PITA it is to change those shields, right?

@shifty` Yup, it's currently holding me up from pressing the hubs back in (just replaced the front bearings and upper ball joints along with the lower control arms and tie rod ends). I'm in the home stretch now, just didn't want to re-install the old one. Guess I'll hammer it back into shape.

That's good research done for finding an interchangeable part. I didn't know one existed for that. Was planning to make cuts in the original, but after reading this it would be good to see if same dust shield fits an 02. Mind saying where this info is found, or what year/model the replacement is originally for? Thx

@gascap I use a mix of the local dealer and toyotapartsdeal (which is apparently Beaverton Toyota, in a Portland burb). Ever since Toyota screwed up their parts website, I've had to use toytapartsdeal to look up part numbers. It's been pretty reliable so far. Enter your vin to get a more accurate list of parts. I hadn't considered using the other version of the shield, but with the angle grinder, I could probably make it work.

The top couple of bullet points in this post outline give an easy way to dig through exploded diagrams to get part numbers...

The diagrams are nice, but I prefer the setup with toyotapartsdeal. You can plug your vin in and get updated part numbers and pricing. This is how I caught the online Toyota parts site providing me with the wrong drums. Hopefully Toyota gets things sorted out. It’s good to have options.

IMG_4387.jpg Pressing it back together. I ended up trimming a shield for the smaller calipers. Only minimal trimming needed.
