I found a deal on these Tacoma wheels. They look great and came with 265/70/16 on them.

I would like to take it 275/70/16 and the only place it looks close is upper control arm.

I have a 2.5 rough country lift up front w JBA upper control arms.

I don’t see anyplace where I think they will rub as far as frame goes and I have an aftermarket front bumper so anywhere up front shouldn’t be an issue.

I don’t want to get into a wheel spacer and I’m looking at the BF Goodrich tire

Jeebus that spring looks cranked the F up. Is it actually providing any function?

Do you rub anything when the truck is jacked up and wheel is hanging fully?

I don’t believe so. Rough country assembled them. They were direct bolt in.

actually I am corrected size I’m looking to fit is 265/75/16

Just looks so radically different from what I've seen on any vehicle, not just these trucks. Coil looks really wide, and almost no spacing.

Yours first here, 5100 from DrLeonard after that (1st pic I could find). Roughly same lift in inches it looks like, but your coils look super compressed, with half the space between each rotation.

Not sure if it matters but I do have a heavy duty bumper up front.

Awesome, that's always a win. They didn't give you any crap for going in and buying while unsure about fitment?

And yeah, that looks like you're closer to 4" lift up front, going by the last pic in your 1st reply. What measurement do you get measuring from center of the wheel hub to the top of the fender? IIRC, stock is usually around 21 ¼" - 21 ¾".

Here’s the new tires. They ride great. I think they are set to 35. Might bump them to 40.

    e1 rated tires.

I’m not a fan of spacers but those wheels need them. Doesn’t look like you need them clearance wise but those wheels tuck in too far imo.

I really did my best to stay away from wheel spacers. I know the strain on the ball joints on these trucks is already bad. If they didn’t rub I was happy. It’s mostly pavement pounder. Just a couple of deer feeder corn runs now and then and the occasional mud hole in and out of the ranch.

BF goodrich has always been good to me. East Texas mud and west Texas rock along with years of hwy use. Not many complaints in all the years.

I’ve had a few sets of ko2s. They suck in the rain, otherwise I like them. Hopefully the ko3 takes care of that issue.

I used to feel this way. Did a lot of reading here and there. Figured if you put them on right with loctite and torque properly and never use an impact on them afterwords you're probably good. I run a spacer with this exact same wheel and tire size but I also have fender flares so the tucked in effect was more dramatic. Mine rubbed on the frame at full lock with no spacer so that pushed me to just go ahead and do it.

That's the biggie, especially with alloy spacers. I'd recommend steel if you're concerned. I've seen my fair share of cracked alloy spacers either because someone was at a shop where the tech impacted the lugnuts on without concern vs. torqueing, or because the owner over-torqued using a 4-way like I do. With a standard OEM setup, no spacer, I rarely bother with using a torque wrench on lugnuts. I have a memory of how much physical output is required and go to that level.

Should've passed on the taco rims - there's plenty of 4runner rims out there that have the correct offset.

I feel like they went the right way dialing in the camber, but way wrong with the caster. Did you tell them what you were looking for?

Well, if we go by @assassin10000's suggested baseline numbers, taken from the sticky info-dump thread...
    • Alignment numbers after lifting: This is important, if you want a roadworthy driving experience without eating tires after your lift, there's a sweet spot for the 1GT that's been road-tested and proven by an array of members time and time again. Specifically ask the shop to aim for the following: -0.1 to -0.3 camber, 2.6 to 2.8 caster, 0.1 to 0.2 total toe in. For camber, aim closer to -0.1 if you're mostly driving freeway, and if you like corners/onramps at speed, aiming closer to -0.3 will offset outside-edge tire wear somewhat.
I'd say it looks like the shop is more concerned about keeping the numbers in the green, and you'd be in a better place if you dialed back the toe a smidge, with the caster was back closer to the original values in red, trying to get nearer to the 2.6-2.8 range.

I'm not the alignment expert though. There are other guys on here who do it for a living, day-in/day-out. They'd be better to speak to this.

Honestly though, I dunno what that Rough Country setup is doing/has done, and what it's capable of. Based on what I'm seeing, I'd be concerned about it, personally, but I also wouldn't have installed their stuff on my truck when Bilstein is about the same $$ ballpark. There's a few things that concern me about what I'm seeing in your pics, but I won't beat that horse again. Trying to focus on topic at hand.

If the steering feels too light, go to 2.5-2.8 caster if possible.

Currently (after a year and some miles) I'd recommend this for those that corner a bit faster:
    -.5 camber
    2.6-2.8 caster
.1-.2 total toe (.05-.10 per side)

    For normal or mostly freeway
    -.3 camber
    2.6-2.8 caster
.1-.2 total toe (.05-.10 per side)

Depending on your suspension setup (lift, upper arms and even lower arms) the camber or caster could change significantly. If lifted without uppers you may be stuck with less than 2 degrees caster (.5-1.5). If you have solo lowers you may get 4+ degrees. It all varies.

OP is running JBA uppers, IIRC. OEM lowers.

Jba's have extra caster for lifts.

    Definitely get caster to 2.5+

The wheels are pulled too far back and probably rubbing the footwell.

I updated language in the sticky, I think this probably encapsulates what you've shared across a number of posts RE: alignment --- I mis-cropped the damn pic, I'm not lopping off those other two which have nothing to do with you
