Solved the issue, had to cut almost 10 inches off of the OG positive wire as the corrosion was so bad that the wire was falling apart in my hand with every cut I made. Once my new harness comes in I'll probably set some time aside to replace the entire thing as I'm pretty sure the corrosion has made it pretty far down the harness. If this issue ever happens to anyone start at the battery terminals and wires!!!!
BTW my truck has over 245K miles and this is one of the first big issues Ive had yet, does anyone have any recommendations on what I should be watching out for in my near future? Water pump and timing belt was done 50K miles ago.

I'd recommend replacing the intake manifold gaskets. Don't use the ITM ones from RA.

Did this problem get fixed with the starter? I've been having the same problem with my 2001 4.7 Tundra. Would love a update. Thanks

There were at least 3 individuals with similar problems contained in this thread and all were fixed. Perhaps starting at the beginning and reading thru the thread you'll find an update that fits your conditions.

Planning to walk through the ignition coil connectors but have to get back to them

2008 Tundra - similar issue as a couple of the guys here. Wouldn’t start, one loud click, took her apart and replaced starter. Last night started 6-7 times with new starter. Came back early today and same loud click. We have tried a new battery and cleaned terminals but no luck. Now this happens on dash.

any advice pretty please and thank you!

How was the connector at the starter??
The starter seems to be the common go to, but it's not the root cause. I've had multiple single failures to start after I let my kid turn on the truck, but when I do it, it doesn't fail for weeks at a time. So, it's definitely in the cabin.

@blackdemon_tt - the connectors seemed okay, the normal breaking of the plastic clip but added a little to hold it back on - started again after I posted the first post and now wont start again - cleaned all the terminals and will try to unwrap and look at cables as explained.

It's gonna be a tough call for folks here in the 1st generation (2000-2006) year forum. Many of us know the 1st gen inside and out but the 2nd gen is some weird, alien thing with its own series of quirks and weirdness.

    I highly recommend two things:
    1. Post your issues in a new thread inside the 2nd gen forum here: https://www.tundras.com/forums/2nd-gen-tundras-2007-2013.26/
    2. When doing your searches, always start inside that forum (like, bookmark that link so you always come here via that subforum) and while using the search feature, click this "Search this forum only" box so you only get 2nd gen results which will apply to your truck.
