    Thanks man.

It doesn’t leave the garage nearly as much as it should.

Also, keeping that black clean is a nightmare.

My ultimate plan is a Dirt King or LSK kit up front, but I know that will spiral into a full back half and blah blah. So I’m just trying to be happy with where it’s at right now.

The right answer is LSK. I should’ve done that from the beginning but oh well my kit does ok for now…

Time to center mount the motor and t/c, cage to support a center pivot bulkhead and j arm setup….full tube back half to make way for links and actually allow axle housing room for full bump…

Bad ass rig brother, love the look. I'm definitely digging the vibe of your truck.

So any issues with the 17s and the huge break calipers on these '14 to '21 tundras. I want 17s for the added side wall and overall more rubber, but I feel it might be an issue when things are vibrating up and down these nasty lease roads I drive on out in the patch

And what did you have to do to the wheel wells once you got the glass fenders and bedsides installed? Anything major? If so do you have pictures of what the inside of the wheel-wells look like post install? Fyi I really want the same methods rims you got in a 17" but a different color.

I’ve had No issues with the 17’s.

The fenders and bedsides definitely take some work and there is no going back.

You’re going to remove the old fenders and liners, fit, cut and drill out the mounting locations in the fiberglass fenders, body work them, body work them again and then paint. The fiberglass is going to be less than perfect and need work, at least in my experience. I also cut my pinch weld, ground it flush, and did an aggressive cab mount chop.

The bedsides, I drilled out all the spot welds on the factory bedsides, then carefully cut about 1/4” down from the top of the bedside along the entire top rail and removed them. I then fit the fiberglass bedsides about 20 times to make sure everything lined up, removing small amounts of material along the way until they were flush with the top bed rail etc.

Then I welded up stiffeners that mount to the bed and to the fiberglass bedside with fender washers to keep it clean. I tried to use inconspicuous locations that still added rigidity to the bedsides. You’ll also body work the fiberglass bedsides a million times, and then paint.

I did all of this myself in my garage (aside from paint) but I cannot imagine what the labor cost alone to fit glass start to finish is at a shop. There were several times I questioned my own sanity during this process.

No issues with 17s on these trucks. You just to be mindful of placing the wheel weights away from the calipers.

what offset are your current rims?

we ran 37x13.5 tires in stock fenders for a couple years before choosing to switch to the beadlocked methods which forced us to go to glass because of the negative offset.

Original wheels were 18x9.5 +22 offset and fit inside the wheel well with stock UCA and some metal massaging inside the wheel well and body mount. Still had full articulation

I’m down to go out wherever, but I will warn you that my truck is 2WD. :crapstorm:

My plan is to build a trussed 10.5 axle (Whenever I can find a used housing at a reasonable price) with a Powertrax and 4.88’s. (I already have the extra set of Nitro 4.88’s in a box ready to go.)

I’m going to go long travel up front as well when I can swing it. Prior to the Icon deal I found I almost pulled the trigger on an LSK kit for Black Friday a year or two ago. But I had other projects I needed to finish up at the time and thought I’d be happy with Mid-Travel. :der:

The ford truss kit from Artec can be modified to fit the tundra. We did this on a buddies rig just an fyi.

Oh nice! I like that. Not too pricey either and probably cuts out some of the guess work.

Do you have any photos of that installed on your buddies Tundra by chance?

Also, @BamBam2020Tundra sorry for the thread-jack. I’m sure if you decide to do glass all of us will be here to help you through it. Just know it’s not a small undertaking and you’re basically committing to 37’s!

Check out Fish_built on instagram he's got pics on there. It does take some massaging but works well. It doesn't span as far as your pics but I feel far enough for added support.

In reality any ford 9" truss kit can be modded to fit our rears.

2WD is fine by me. Slap a locker in there and make heavy use of the loud pedal. Our buddy had a locked 2wd and went pretty much everywhere we did. He just took the strap on occasion. Then he rolled the 2wd and got a 4WD.

and here’s my buddy @osidepunker trussed rear end. Did he get banned? Again? :monocle:

I still have the stock 20s that come on the TSS models, not sure if it's the same +60 offset as the stock 18s, but I'm trying to figure out what offset on a 17" setup with 35/12.5s is necessary for minimal mods, and if I did decide to say screw it, nod away amd slap 37s on, how woul I go about it.
Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to all this. I like the look of the size of 37s on out trucks, but wonder if it's even beneficial or would it bedetrimental to the longevity of my truck and the setup iv already purchased (Bilstein 8112s and 8100s, Bilstein UCAs, Icon RXT Leaf Pack)???

Honestly, I think a nice set of 0-Offset 17’s and 35’s would look great with the suspension set up you have. You could always do the glass and 37’s once the 35’s wear out if it’s something you still want after all that.
