    Hi guys,

Yes I have the dreaded VSC on my 2004 4x4 DC. New to me, so I’d like to start out fresh on everything that I can. Especially with this horrific master cylinder. A quick search here yielded nothing for me, so…

Any thoughts on a brake fluid flush? The sticker on the MC says things are under high pressure, and I know absolutely nothing about this system. So is flushing just like a typical system with a vacuum booster? Or do I need to find a shop with the machine? The pressure comment on the sticker has me scared…

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Yes, thank you. I fixed it. I keep thinking “management” instead of “control”.

That's all I can contribute. I know nothing about the VSC-based systems on these trucks. I'm sure someone can hop in and help. IIRC, I think there's some extra step where you hafta bleed the VSC assembly, but ... that's about all I've got on the tip of my brain.

Let me know what you did? I was planning on just slowly pulling the old from the reservoir and circulating fresh fluid through it over time unless I could find a definitive method.

Ha, thought I had found the thread I needed until I ran across my own comment. VSC owners combine our knowledge

I just have the girlfriend press the brake while I open the bleeders at the wheels. The electric motor pumps new fluid through instantly.

Easiest brake bleeding I’ve ever done. Unless we’re not supposed to do that?

I’ve done it several times now and it works in seconds. My electric master booster thing has 350k on it.

That’s excellent! Probably the first time ever these brake units are easier to work on than standard vacuum boosters. Thank you. I plan on using Bosch 5.1 brake fluid. Any thoughts on that? Without a LSPV, or whatever the acronym is for the rear brake fluid proportioning valve is, what are the steps for us to run a complete system bleed? same as usual?

Do you have the stock brake fluid cap and can you post a picture of the top and inside? I’ll post mine tomorrow but from what I’m seeing online mine is weird.
