Evening gents, want to get some larger tires on my rig hoping y’all can steer me in the right directing.

I’ll be keeping my stock 18 TRD OR wheels just like to go bigger. Want to keep the stock OR suspension, really like how it rides. Would like a small poke but not looks for that cuhhh look. Was thinking Mickey Thompsons or some Nitto grapplers or some Toyos.

    I appreciate your suggestions gents.

Here you go sir, hours of reading and excellent photos on all kinds of different options. LINK

Most 33" and 34" tires will fit with zero mods, you just get to decide what kind of driving you'll be doing and how durable / heavy / aggressive you want to go. Virtually ALL the aggressive A/T tires will come with an MPG and performance hit depending on size and weight.

I have the same wheels and also would like slightly bigger tires. 265/70-18 has an overall diameter of 32.6" so I would like to get 285/65-18 which is also 32.6" diameter. But, unfortunately, almost all of these are more aggressive AT type tread instead of the road oriented tread I prefer. Tire Rack has a Michelin LTX M&S with road oriented tread in this size, which would be exactly what I would want, except it only comes only in Load range E version. Their standard LTX M&S doesn't seem to come in this size. If it did, I'd have got them already. :-(

Thank you for that Volks. I have scoured that thread quite a few times.

I’m still a bit confused, which is why I indicated what I was looking for and what recommendations the fine folks here on the forum would recommend….

I wanted to go 35 without modifying the stock suspension. Or how big can I go without modifying my suspension.

I’ll keep looking on the thread you provided.

And continue arguing about engine rod bearings…

And I would add to that: the more aggressive and OR treads also have poorer rain / wet pavement performance. Just be aware that tire choice involves a compromise in just about every category.

Super happy with my Falken Wildpeaks. OEM wheels and suspension.

I am super happy with the BFG KO’s. Excellent snow tire. They are a little rougher than stock but not much. Have 1.25” Bora spacers on too. 51344DB7-84DF-45D4-8B8D-8EC926E136EF.jpg

BTW, tire size is 275 70 18 and they were on for a while before the small lift was put in. Fit just great.

295/70/18 is the largest tire size you can go on stock suspension.
Nitto makes the Recon Grappler in a “P” rating in that size, which is nice because it’s much lighter. As long as you don’t require an E-rated tire for some reason.

I’ve had a lot of trucks and different tire setups. Here’s my takes but YMMV:

Toyo: Wear rate was horrible on Toyo’s for me I tried both MT and AT both were terrible for me.

BF Goodrich KO2 - really like the KO2’s great on almost everything, they are just average on wet pavement though.

Nitto Grapplers - look cool and were good but I really didn’t like the amount of road noise.

Mickey Thomason’s - Never ran these

**Falken WildPeak A/T3W** - These are my new favorite tire. I haven’t had them long enough to tell on wear, but I’ve had them in all conditions from mud, to wet, to white out ice and snow and they performed great. They’re pretty quiet for daily driving as well. As a bonus they are usually a little cheaper than most of the field.

    I’m running 295/70/18

Thank you to all that provided insight on this, I greatly appreciate your knowledge !

I may go with the Westscott lift and 35’s. It seems the Westscott lift retains the weight em quality suspension as mentioned on another thread.

I'm in the same boat, what did you end up going with? I feel like i've read 295/75/r18 wouldn't fit on stock OR suspension.

I ended up going with Falken Wildpeaks 295/70 R18, at first I went with oem wheels and a 1” spacer.

Then I switched out the oem wheels and went with some 18” Fuel Blitz with a 20+ offset.

I just put on 275 70 r18 and love it. Not too big, but look great. All stock everything.

Did you need the 1" spacer for the 295/70/r18s?

Question on the 275/70/18 tires, these are slightly larger than the factory 265/70/18. Curious on the impact on MPG with the larger tires?

Very minor change. The mpg dropped a bit but it’s a truck so who cares. I can still get 22mpg on the highway.
I’m going to be jumping up to the 295’s soon as I lifted the truck and it needs more tire, so I’ll have a set of barely used 275 BFG’s for sale

I came from K02 on my Tacoma and I loved them, but they're a bit heavy. I'm considering going with Falken Wilpeak AT3 for my Tundra, I keep reading online that they behave better for on road use.
