General Supercharger Thread

I installed Powertrax and 4.88s. I’m just taking it easy, but it shifts really nicely. I’m running 33s, so I was a bit skeptical. I’m excited to hammer on it.

 

Powertrax will be a nice addition after i get some new 750 injectors. I toasted my auburn in 6 mos... @snivilous hpt should be here friday!

 

That’s unfortunate. I’ve read horror stories. Powertrax is designed like the Detroit Trutrac. It’s stronger by design. It has less moving parts.

 

I decided to go with the walbro ti450 90000267 pump and ordered a ffv fuel canister after reading @4firemandan e85 fuel system and @Silver17 post from the fb group by Matt smith. Will see how it works out and if i have to switch out canister connection. Waiting for the canister now.

Anyone think if the radiator & its pieces are out the pulley can be R&R'd? (I have the eBay puller that can get it out with limited space)

I have the Mishimoto radiator, thermostat & silicon hoses to install (& Toyota Red coolant) and was thinking maybe when I do them I can get the SnivSpeed pulley in. (Might make me do it in this AZ 10000 degree heat).

 

It’s possible with the ebay design that has the two plates which forces the pulley off since it’s low clearance. I had to use so much energy though on two breaker bars I’d be worried about the bolts holding the snout on getting too much pressure and strip/break.

 

I swapped the original with the eBay puller in the back of the truck. It was "scary" but did it no problem. You really only need the width of the pulley.

 

Those that used the ti450 did you use the pre filter? I called and looked online for the ffv pump filter. Parts dept said they don't sell it only replace the whole pump and canister assembly. I laughed and said a $5 filter vs $3-400 for assembly.
But guess makes sense as your dropping the tank and pulling the pump. I did install a 30 micron filter after the tank, will get a 10 when I do the injectors.

 

Thanks @snivilous for the idea. Just. Used some arcylic I had and angled trim piece for the gauge. Thought of swapping the failsafe and fuel psi positions but don't feel like getting all pretzeled.it's a cheapo psi gauge but reads what the regulator is set at.

I have pics set at small size and thumbnail.

 

Yes, I used the pre-filter, it helps to protect the pump...Summit sells replacement filters, so do lots of other places, 11mm for the 450 inlet.

I used a universal filter sock bought at O'Reilly

 

Same here, I got the summit 450ti install kit that came with a new filter and few other items, I remember it being relatively inexpensive. It does not fit in the nonflex basket all that well.

 

Thanks for the replies. I found a half circle one rated at 30 micron that should fit without being stuffed in. The one from the ti kit was kinda too crammed for my liking.

 

Now that I'm back in the land of freedom.

Drive through test when it's 110+ out. Having a cool intake when you're doing 80 on the interstate is great but what about when it's hot as balls out and you're parked in line for 20 minutes?

 

That's why I'm driving the Prius today.

What are the odds of getting a before and after dragy?

 

My cats are blown out and the truck isn't making near the power it was as it was tuned with them in place. Down on power so it wouldn't be a fair comparison!

 

Anyone know the capacity of the OEM cooler?

 

Seems the SC likes a little bit of back pressure. Ran no cats seemed to lose some torque. Instead magnaflow metal 200 cell high flow and seemed to be good.

I do have pretty good results.

 

I talked to Keith years ago when I got my LTubes and 3 inch dual exhaust. Plus the 22 inch mufflers help too.

 

It's entirely possible that was in conjunction with my wish to have no drone. I have his 10" cat back.

My wife didn't notice.

I've been super happy with his setup. No drone at any rpm. Got the bigger mufflers/hemholtz resonators as my dogs ride in the back seat. I would have to dyno to see the torque loss and not by the butt dyno. Haha
