That looks really good man, I might have missed it, but did you ever log how much the gooooold reduced temps?

I would say it attributed to getting into the 30* delta and heatsoak prevention. It definitely delayed the heatsoaking.

Cool, I've got a few sheets and a big roll to start wrapping when I get my sniv adapter and do the install. Right now I'm seeing about 21-25 over ambient while driving, so will see what the wrap does before moving forward with my interchiller install.

Whatever this forum told me to do
I'm keeping an eye on all this...I avg 27 degree delta. (harrop sensor)

I would think ~25degree delta would be the plausible limit to cooling.

When cruising down the hwy @ 62mph...90 miles...I will usually see 23degree delta. ideal conditions...which means that's just the blower and or IC coolant(heatsoak) adding heat. lowering that number would take the killer chiller thing...but that is only temporary.

I like the @reywcms front intake thing a ma jig.

Pretty significant temp changes. The stock unsealed PS had me at 50+ until I switched to Frankenstillen.

Did you enlarge the hole in the fender?

Yes but I didn't do a SABM to cut a second hole which I've seen recommended. I also didn't want to spend the time sealing up the box since it was pulling hot air from the bay on both the intake and fender side.

The Stillen basically adds a SABM without cutting.

This is what ProSpeed recommended to keep temps down with their intake:

Hell they should've just made you mount the filter inside the fender.

Yep I've the SABM hole as well from before. I also used my TRD accelerator just spun it around so it doesn't fall out. I'll send pics after my next meeting

That's actually something I've been wanting to do...kinda like what ViktorG has, but with the element facing toward the front of the truck.

    Well, it's done.
Officially put down my deposit with National Speed for a Magnuson Stage 1.
Tentative install date is August 14th.

Thanks for the heads up on what the proper PS install looks like. Even with the enlarged opening the PS box will pull in hot air from the bay unless you seal it.

That's a big nope from me. No restriction at my power level with my Frankenstillen. If I go for bigger numbers I'll consider a SABM before cutting up my fender like that.

UPS finally dropped it off and it's perfect, the GM throttle body fits like it was made for it. The TB mounting screws are a little too long, so once I get some shorter ones I'll be on track to install this weekend (weather permitting). Thanks again @snivilous !

I’ll grab a screen shot of the digital gauges but my Magnuson box + SABM + RCF when driving is just 1-2 degrees above ambient. Unless you guys are talking post blower temps? Then when idling in traffic is around 20-25 over ambient. (In 60-90 degree weather, never looked when it’s colder).

It is split on temps. Harrop has a break out harness that reads post blower temps.

When I asked the shop about their thoughts on a meth kit for myself this was their thoughts and reason -
"Only reason would be if your not gonna be running e85 ever but its better to rely on e85, a meth kit, if the pump goes out and your using it for octane, bad things can happen, but we have wired them into the motec with a pressure switch on another tundra"
"theres no power to gain though from where you are, it would simply be if you needed octane which you dont cause you have true flex fuel"

Hopefully that helps you decide and think about other requirements for how to implement safe fails in order to not damage the motor if your running it for octane.

He said he impulse buys cars and trucks a lot and sells them quite often from one of his responses on social media.

Def not chasing a power gain but more headroom by keeping the cylinders cooler. Also, benefit from a slight octane boost when running in Mexico with shit gas.

That's the path I've been researching to use when the gas is crap. More of a safeguard than a power adder.
