@TNTundra08 I have my reverse lights wired directly to the switch. I was too lazy to figure out this diode thing as I'm a newb and electrical projects scare me. Let me know what you figure out so one day I can rewire.

See mines the opposite mine is wired directly to the reverse light. Diode is super easy. Has one side with two plug Ins and other side only had one (two power in one power out) im just not sure if it's okay to leave the lights ground to the factory reverse light with the diode and button or if I need to run a ground along with the power wire along the truck to ground

Hopefully this can come back from the dead lol. Anyone have a complete write up on doing the lights into the reverse lights and a switch? I can read all day long and day I’m good to go! Buuuut more of a visual kind of guy. Thanks in advance!

What type of "under bumper" lights were y'all using?

Just finished installing flush mount LED pods in my bumper. I used a Dremel 3000 with metal blades to cut the bumper. Drilled the holes, painted the exposed metal to prevent rust, mounted the lights (Nilight from Amazon).
I also bought a Nilight wiring harness that came with a relay pre wired and a cheap switch. I also purchased an OEM style switch. Wiring the lights was simple after extending the harness to length. The OEM switch came with four wires as shown compared to the harness’s three wires. Black to black, white to both reds (so the back light on the switch only activates when switch is engaged), red to green. Everything works great!
