Been awhile in catching up but kudos for where you are considering where you been....sweet job so far.

Possibly moved on from this position but suppose you could test by having ignition coils in place and not replace 2 of 3 bolts and see result. According to EWD, that bolt passage does not appear to be used for a gnd connection.

What you could do if you haven't already is to measure the primary/secondary resistance of the coils.

    Ignition Coil.jpg

Note to self: be cautious when pressure washing the engine bay !

    Thankyou
Okay so the bolt does not ground the coils...
I have since thrown the old coils away but it's still good to know how to check them with the ohms meter. Thanks.

Today I'm driving the truck to the Toyota service center to get the alignment done. I haven't installed the new front brake calipers and can tell one of them is stuck so I drove slow across town until I install it later today after the alignment service

    I'm being watched over

The passenger side brake caliper was not releasing so I got two new calipers, pads and hoses installed.

Thats a low tire. I mean, you do you, i see the value of wearing the corners, then airing up for the highway, but damn, might pull a vacuum at dead center.

dont mind me, the tires i want are gonna let me run 60psi.

I set them near what the manufacturer recommended @30psi front and rear

I just got back from testing the truck on the interstate. Went 75mph was as smooth as can be. The rpms were at 2,500 @70mph in 5th gear.

The truck is done. I have nothing else to do to it.
Thank you all for every bit of the help.

Just my input with those tires, assuming they’re P rated not LT, I would set them at 34psi. You can always do the chalk test to see what’s best. And like others have said, it’s been awesome watching your progress! Stick around, you could help out a lot of the folks with v6/manual questions.

Dunno, the truck he built is worth tenfold compared to one he could buy.

Yeah, totally agreed--no comparing a truck you've baselined yourself. I think am just jealous of those windoors on that camper.

Don't get too jealous, the back-end looks pretty janky on it, just SCHLOOMP! and it cuts off.

Windoors are cool and all, but when paired with a goofy shell design, it becomes lipstick on a pig.

After two visits to the Toyota service center they said my truck was too rusty and bent and the lower control arm bushings are bad, the truck is lifted and needs new lower control arms installed and that they could not do the alignment. They gave me my money and truck back with the passenger side camber way positive.
Thanks to JBerry's write up and even though I ended up doing it slightly differently from him, I decided to take on the task of doing the alignment myself.

Here's how I got the truck back from the alignment. With a positive camber on the passenger side:
    IMG_20230709_215550.jpg

First thing I did was equal out all four eccentrics. (They had them all over the place)
Once the eccentrics we're equaled, the wheels fell into a good camber. This truck is very straight:
    IMG_20230711_110857.jpg
    IMG_20230711_110850.jpg

With the digital angle finder, I was able to set the camber to a -0.3 - -.04 for both sides which I was very happy with
    IMG_20230711_110725.jpg
    IMG_20230711_110756.jpg

Next I made sure the wheel was straight then used a plumb bob, positioned on a center line printed on my new tires to make chalk marks on the concrete front and rear to get the toe
    IMG_20230711_110143.jpg
    IMG_20230711_110208.jpg

I ended up with a 67.5" front and rear and was happy. The threads on the rack also equally spaced on the tie rod ends.
    IMG_20230711_111511~2.jpg
    IMG_20230711_111446.jpg

This is how it ended up. I am happy with this:

Just an fyi. You want about 1/8-1/4" toe in when doing it this way.

Also, when evening out the camber I would recommend only pulling the front two cam adjusters inward and leaving the rear ones (near steering rack) fully outwards.

Considering a new rear bumper down the road due to rust. I like the look of the factory front, it's lightweight and a winch is unnecessary for what I'm doing.

Coming back from a road trip to north Florida and back. Got it in 5th with the cruise set and tundras.com on the screen. Check out the RPM.

This truck is sooo much more comfortable than my old single cab 1995 4cyl 5spd ranger with no ac or cruise
