I just bought a 2006 Tundra DB 4x4 TRD and this forum has already helped tremendously. Specifically with tightening the bolts to spec on the valve covers, that stopped a leak.
So far I have replaced the wheels with snowflakes from a 2019 Tacoma. Replaced the air filter, PCV, and swaybar links. Cleaned the maf and throttle body. Next is fluid changes.
Today the truck is at the local shop for a new spare tire and to get the brakes done (I don't yet trust my DIY skills to do the brakes myself)

How many miles are on it? Has the timing belt been done?

Its got 160k. The timing belt, water pump, and radiator were replaced in December '22. It's got some rust underneath that's why I did the sway bar links right away, one was rusted off.
I'd like to raise up the front so it sits level to the stock rear height, what setup would u recommend?

That's out of my area of expertise. Though I have no doubt that there may be more than a few members here that can help you out.

V70R has a 5 year old battery. Cranks just fine. Our 7 year old Nissan is strong as day 1 on the lot. Definitely something draining the Toyota. Read somewhere the likely culprit is the factory anti-theft system. Could also be AAA batteries lol.

Congrats on the new truck! As for the front lift, depends how much you wanna spend?$$$

cheap and dependable, something I ran for many years were Bilstein 5100’s on I think the 1st notch.

My polaris side by side battery is original at 7 years old. As of Saturday night it's lasted longer than the engine. LINK

Quick question - I need to replace the grease zerk on my driveshaft slip yoke. Is this special to Toyota or can I just stop at Fleet Farm & grab some?

Bingo, I replaced one single zirk yesterday. The 1/4" size looks the same but doesn't fit. Had to go back to napa and ask for the metric size, they couldn't figure out which one I needed but I guessed at it and got it right somehow.

Friday poll is whoever posts one first. If it doesn't get posted here, and say in the off topic thread, link it in the lunchtable.

She got all cleaned up today. Sure had been a while7E6D18B8-FA69-41D0-A498-6D3C53CDF2C4.jpgAnd a clean air filter.

Figured out my hood latch issue. Wouldn’t unlock unless someone pulled the hood up while someone pulled the latch… little plastic clip broke794D235D-5825-4DE6-87D3-020D1B8EAAA5.jpgluckily had a zip tie handy. Line now held down and works good enough. Bless the soul who created the zip tie.

**Edit to note, the zip tie fix didn’t last long. I can open the hood but latch won’t retract now, keeping the hood unlocked. Worked for a bit but clearly not a long term solution. 20C6E3EA-C253-48CE-BBA2-015D8CB9AF41.jpg

So many loose bolts! @FirstGenVol, I’ll be keeping the little wrench in a more accessible place after T2S lol.1BDC2DFD-F782-4423-A706-D9AF5350855D.jpg

Attempted to remove the shell. Epic failure
Gonna take 2 minimum to pry away all the old weather sealant along the bed. Put the clamps back on took it for a spin. Test fit the fog lights and ordered some Hertz K 170 components to replace the dead speakers. Happy truck :bananadance:
For shiggles and giggles, I called my local dealership to get a price on drip molding for the RC...$138. "Wow! For the pair?" Nope, each. :spending:
Wishful thinking. Buying the pair for $130 on the innerwebz (not Amazon shifty ').

First oil change done. Changed the diff fluid in the front&rear diffs and transfer case, new washers, new rear diff fill plug. Greased all the zerks. Cleaned battery terminals.
I think the Taco is getting jealous, the new Tundra is getting all the attention. :)

Fumoto Valves sure do make this easy. Finally changing the oil after T2S as I got closer to 5k miles. @jpink convinced me to go with Pennzoil this time and Wally World had it marked down.

Finished up a minor project I started yesterday that ties the front map lights into the back dome light circuit so they come on when opening the door or via open door with remote.
Kicked back now watching US Open.

Had dual exhaust put on (Super Flowmaster 44), Dirty Deeds 12hole 250cc injectors, MSD Coils and AfE cold air intake. Runs and sounds great, so smooth. Also put on Pedal Commander set to City -3 and tuned out the big throttle hesitation at initial start off. 20230619_144708.jpg 20230619_144721.jpg 20230524_152920.jpg
