What's your opinion on which brand have the most aggressive A/T all terrain tires. Not sure if this has already been discuss but very curious. Trying to roll with a super clean set-up with aggressive looking A/T tires.
    Any thoughts or opinions?

An at tire is a no brainer in my opinion. I love the look of am mt, but wet weather and ice is a problem. For me it came down to 2 tires, toyo at2 extreme and the duratrac, based on reviews, looks and siping. What sold me on the toyo was the fact that they don't require much weight to balance them. To me that says quality. 45k mile warranty too. And unfortunately I didn't have much luck with Goodyear in the past.

Food for thought:::: When I was in AK for ten months, most of the wheelers I associated with ran with two sets. You may think "too expensive". Think about it. Have a set of overly aggressive tires like K/O's and maybe a set of Nitto G2's . It depends a lot where you live, what conditions you drive in. 95% highway. 5% off road? 50%/50%???. San Diego or Fargo or Dead Horse? The answer to this is not easy. Tire's, weather, miles traveled each day to work. (Can't go wrong with Dura Tracs, all around best tire for the $ IMO)

Yeah really dead in the water between the new BFG A/T KO2 and the Duratracs. They both look great. I live in hawaii so rain and snow isn't an issue. If anything, too much sun......lol. I guess it'll boil down to thread life from just highway/city use. You guys think BFG got the advantage on milage?

Definitely not a fan of the Nitto Terra grapplers. Had them on my Tacoma and I will never buy another nitto tire again. Little traction offroad, no traction in the rain and they wore incredibly fast. also really weak sidewalls.

See, I read the opposite on the G2's...but I've only had them a few months now ...been through plenty of rain out here without any issues...but I don't have any experience with the non G2's.

I have the BFs. They are awesome. Mileage isn't too affected and they handle really well.

My "Trail" Grappler M/T's have been great so far. Mud or snow. A bit much for highway driving which I don't do much of. Normal tread wear and sidewalls are strong. A very good 10 ply tire. Don't know much about Terra Grapplers, but most reviews for the TG G2's are positive. One tire to consider are the Wrangler Kevlar A/T tires.

If your not looking for wet, snow, ice traction do not get the duratrac.

So the Duratracs are good in the wet, ice, and snow? I am thinking about getting a set of them but want to be sure that they are good for all weather conditions.

Correct, they excel in snow and ice. Good all around but u won't see the life out of them as most want due to their softer compound. But if u drove often in snow and ice, it's a no brainer. They are crazy nice during winter.

Coopers look nice but not enough sidewall action going on for me. The M/Ts look sweet but looking for aggressive looking A/Ts. I'm sure your rig looks tight with coops and I have heard good things about them from friends.

I have cooper st Maxx on my taco. Tough tires. Tread is great all around with strong sidewalls. And they have sidebiters

I agree. The DuraTracs on my 09 Taco performed well when I was in AK. BP's Ford truck fleet on the north slope operating out of Dead Horse, whch was quite a large fleet, were all fitted with DuraTracs. That was good evidence for me how good a tire the DuraTrac is. The driving conditions up there can be be pretty interesting at times. When you are operating in harsh conditions, it's critical that you have the best tools, whether it's test equipment or tires. After putting over 8K miles on them just driving to AK and back, I can safely say they have been the best tires I've ever owned in all conditions and my DuraTracs were definitely in all conditions. Drove up in late fall and came back late summer and was there for record snow/temps that winter in Anchorage. If that is not good field test, then I don't know what is.

My Duras wore quite well. Well as to be expected. It's important to run proper load range and inflation. Don't know how many times I've seen tires improperly set up for their intended use. If one is concerned primarily with tread life then go with Michelin's.

The coops SST pro.......looks like M/Ts. Are they an in between tire?

Dream tire...... . Threads like BFG ko2 and side walls like the SST.....I'd be all set!!!!

They sure look sweet. I bet it'll hurt my wallet though.

    Yep, for instance:
    http://www.treaddepot.com/group/dstpr.html

Most are in-stock with them when you click on the desired size
Also, for some reason their pictures just make them look downright amazing to me for an MT. Kind of like a KM2, but with more angular tread and a greater number of blocks

That tire is super sweet......but I think it sits in the mud terrain category as mentioned at treaddepot
