I think it was an old Victor post or video saying the issue is the TPS sensor signal range. Toyota vs. GM, one is rising rate, one is inverse; or something similar. As the IG guys have figured out, it's just a signal processor convertor needed. I wonder if any of the Megasquirt / DIYEFI guys have came up with a solution?

*edit* found the video. Toyota TPS is 2 rising voltage outputs. GM has 1 rising, one falling. This is a bit outside of my wheelhouse, but not too far.

*EDIT2* I decided to move my ramblings to the TB development thread we pulled from the dead and not clog this up so bad.

If it fits in the housing I think it would be better to swap the guts than to have a translator. Less likely to throw faults. Translator is also introducing another failure point.

Only issue I could see is if the larger TB plate is heavier.

I see some additional discussion has taken place.

I personally wouldn’t want to be tuned on any setup with components that are not readily available, especially relatively untested non OEM parts would be my main hold back. Unless of course it’s not big deal to just switch back to the regular TB without changing the tune and just make less power.

Especially considering not much HP may be left on the table based on the article you posted a few months ago.

I have Reys RCF throttle body he sent me. I also have a Nick Williams 92mm (iirc) on my LSA setup, and some random (6.0 or 5.3) throttle body from one of my engines:

    PXL_20230524_210107581.jpg

    PXL_20230524_210352743.jpg

    PXL_20230524_210302412.jpg

Assuming the Tundra is the same as the RCF, the motor assembly is riveted to the housing so those would need to be drilled out, and then all the parts of the housing (can see the motor bulge and there's probably bearings and springs and shit) would need to be made as a stand alone piece is my thinking, then probably have a second piece that connects the Tundra electronics output (probably a gear or maybe a dedicated output shaft) to the GM butterfly shaft. So optimistically it'd be two parts: replicate the housing components on the Tundra TB and that part would also somehow attach to the GM, and then some intermediate connection between the drivetrain and the butterfly valve. Probably wouldn't look much different than the stock RCF shown besides the housing becoming effectively a two piece design. And then cap off all the GM shit.

With that said I haven't torn into anything, and Rey didn't want me destroying his RCF TB in the name of science :D

It’s sad I don’t even remember which article that would be. Lol

Unrelated, I spotted an elusive Craptor R in the wild today.

Ah yes I remember now. That article seems to have a lot of positives to say about radiused entries as well. Wonder if there is truly a benefit to the TRD airflow accelerator aiding flow into the airbox. It’s pretty cheap, probably worth it. But if the TB is a restriction does it even matter?

So, my truck has been sitting since I installed the PS fuel system, for me it was just a fuel pressure regulator, lines and rails, I already had the injectors and fuel pump. It's been sitting because it would go past 3k rpm after the install. I thought I could have a clogged cat, but the guys at PS said I shouldn't drive it because it needs to be tuned. I'm four weeks into a ten week wait for my AR long tube headers, once they are installed PS will tune it. So, like I said the truck has been sitting until tonight. @snivilous sent me a tune that got my truck running normal again and I can't thank him enough. I will be installing his 2.2 pulley with the header's and putting the truck on the Dyno to see the difference.

Glad he got it running! Can you share a pic of how the Prospeed box looks against the fender wall? Curious since there’s no pics of that.

I have the whole drilled for the second air inlet, worked great with the PS intake. Let me know if you need a better pic. PXL_20230419_155150347.jpg

Awesome thank you! Did you add a larger airfilter? I ordered a larger piece if it fits I’ll send you the part info.

I argued with Amazon about not getting a replacement in a timely fashion so loudly they said keep it & have your damn money.

I need a good radiator to go to L.A. at 3am tomorrow so I took the damaged radiator to a shop, they pressure tested it & found it good, tested mine & it's leaking, they installed the new one, I was running at 205 before pre overflow nipple breakage, now it is 190.

I will order the CSF when I get back from L.A.

Also, while it was there, they dropped the tank, welded in studs & put the tank back, now I can drop the tank to my heart's content (none) and not worry about the damn straps. Shoulda been studs in the first place imho.

Studs would/will make it so much easier to get that hole on the end of the strap properly in place!

700-840 is a considerable difference. I'm not sure what size pulleys they were running, but the comments said 17-18 PSI pulling through that 110mm throttle body and larger custom intake tube. Or maybe ProSpeed's tune is just really conservative.
