    Truck is looking awesome, Andrew!

Any rub with the new shoes? And are you running spacers, or is that natural offset from the wheels you chose?

Thank you sir! No rub as of yet but I haven't maxed out the steering. No spacers, I also ditched the fender flares I had which makes them look more poked out than before.

Serious question - what's the intended purpose of those bed rail - rails?
They don't seem good for tie down as the tie could slide along the rail.
Only thing I can imagine is a bunch of kids riding in the bed hanging on.

They might ne good in 1 of 100 situations but mostly they are for looks. The dealership put them on before my grandfather bought it. I kinda like them so I'm just leaving them for now but plans for a bed rack are in the works so their time may be limited.

It's plug and play? Sounds great. Wish I had done that back when I installed mine.

I ditched mine as well and like the little bit of poke it gives the truck now as I have 255s so skinnier tires to begin with. Definitely havent regretted getting rid of them though, I think it looks much better overall without them.

So I'd had success with food safe activated charcoal chips in the past, I'm thinking I might buy some of these and stick them in parts of my A/C ducts.

The DIR harness is plug-and-play and can be pre-installed before the camera. My DIR harness came with a waterproof 2-pin male plug, I think, and separate female side of the plug with a red and black wire. I pre-crimped the pigtail onto my camera during install, so when I got both ends of the camera wiring to the rear corner, all I needed to do was plug it in. I pinged Dave about stubbing the power/ground for camera ahead of time, I'm not sure if it's something he always does, but it made this fuck-all easier. The only crimping I had to do for the entire job was attaching the camera's reverse trigger wire at my head unit, and crimping the camera's powers+ground to the DIR harness stub as mentioned.

Essentially, with my Boyo camera, this was my configuration, with the blue stars being my crimp points (I'll go back and add this to my previous post for longevity):

I actually added a reverse tap to the options.

    https://fbchs.square.site/product/tundra-1g-dir/4

One thing I’ve thought of is longer T’s at the plate bulbs so you’d have less bulk inside the bumper. Feed the OEM harness arms upstream and then the DIR arms in their place.

On my own truck with aftermarket bumper it’s all open so I don’t have much to think about. I’m actually so far behind I don’t have a DIR on any of my 3 trucks right now.

This is super cool and if I hadn't needed to replace my tailgate latch (went with the Master Tailgaters camera and just posi-tapped that into the reverse power line), I'd have done the license-plate-frame camera and this would have been a must-have. So glad to know there's stuff like this out there for our trucks!

@daveeasa I also need to diagnose my camper shell lights when I have more time this summer; this item could come in handy depending on how jacked up the Leer install was.

Man, on that last part, I'm so stoked to check this off my list. I'm gunning this is the year to finalize all the stuff I've been wanting to do, and with the extended spring keeping hot/humid temps at bay I've been making progress. I'm just pissed I haven't gotten more time on weekends because there's always something going on. We usually don't have temps in the 70s during late May. I'm loving it. Soccer season is over with at least, so that's 3 hours reclaimed smack in the middle of Saturday, which is the day I'll need to install my CO+UCA so I have a spare day on the back side.

DIR is awesome, and having the reverse power tee is a no-brainer, given it's intended for camera use :D

And frankly, for guys like @JasonC. who may not want to cut or tap their OEM reverse light harness, just having an option for that may be fruitful as well. Unlessy you already have it, which I bet you probably do :D

Grandpa poked through the cab behind the driverside cab mount. Gooped everything pretty good. A little too sketch to be driving over limbs.

First post on here but everyone seems helpful.

I did some body work and bed liner on a new to me 02 Tundra. The body work I did myself and had the bed sprayed by linex.

I definitely found a plastic plug in the rear corner, but it provided access to the cab mount, best I could tell, single nut in the center of it when you pop off the cap. Same as the larger one next to the driver foot rest block. Is this the one?

It was a good investment, I think the family spent around 3-3.5 on it.

Well today was almost a complete loss.

    Tundra: 2
    Bill: 0

Rear shock bushings wouldn’t compress no matter what I did, so now I need to buy a non-lock nut and maybe some washers to pre-compress at least one gasket between the shock and the shock tower to get sight of the threads.

Also realized I need a brake bleeder wrench for better clearance. Turning the bleeder screw 1” counter clockwise before I hit the backplate lip isn’t going to cut it even with the tire off. This is for use of the Speedi-Bleeder where I need to be able to wrench the bleeder screw closed with the 1/4” tube on the bleeder.

Hopefully round 2 this weekend will go better.

Nah, not the floor one. One on the back wall of the cab. It feeds inside the rear cubby where the jack is.

Weird. Mine doesn't have wing nuts to retain but machined tabs that spin to catch the lip.

    179592.jpg

Does yours also have an o-ring that expands when tightening the center for a good seal?

mine have the wing nuts but they turn the lower tabs you speak of. They are basically levers.

@assassin10000 Yes, mine has the expanding seal. This one was specifically made for the Speedi-Bleeder kit. It’s also as @alb1k describes.
