Any idea what might be causing my truck to not want to learn the new sensors? For example, I step through all the prompts on the dash and I see the "identify wheel accepted" screen, but then it just stays there and never actually (as far as i know) identity's the wheels. When attempting to set pressure, nothing happens. I have tried this on longer (15-20 minute) drives and still no luck.

For clarity i went with the Toyota Tundra Huf IntelliSens TPMSSensor 42607-02050 315MHz ( https://www.tpms.com/Toyota-Tundra-Huf-IntelliSens-TPMS-p/uvst17r-toyota-tundra.htm)

What is even more annoying are the popup's on the media display that define the error and want me to call the dealer (whom of which, has already called me asking if everything is ok).

I had the same issue, -the error. They just wouldn’t register. So I finally went on an hour ride on a highway and it has been working just fine since

did you re-attempt the identify before the drive or just leave it as it was and it just finally worked?

I’ve gone on a 30 min mixed drive and that didn’t get the job done.

Just a little follow up here... I drove around for about a week with the light on and the identify wheel setting still "active" until last night when the light turned off and tire pressures were shown on the dash. I had all kinds of drives, 5 minutes locally... 20minutes highway and in-between. To me there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to why it all of a sudden worked, but I'm happy it worked. Also validation that the sensors I used (linked above) are compatible for anyone else looking in the future.

Ive been driving on mine for a month with light on. I don’t drive more than 20 minutes at a time, maybe that’s the problem. Did you have to go into the menu to identify the wheel or did it do it by itself?

I would not say a 20+ minute drive is what solved it but I guess it can not hurt to try.

I initially set the identify command from the dash but i only did it once and left it.

    Update from me,

The ebay sensors that i purchased have been working great, no issues from me, in fact i know they are working properly as i found a nail in my tire the other day and when i started the truck up, it let me know that it was low within the first 30-45 seconds of the truck running

Can confirm these “Toyota Tundra Schrader 33500 EZ Sensor TPMS Sensor 42607-02050 315MHz” work. They send them pre-setup for a 2022 tundra. https://www.tpms.com/Toyota-Tundra-Schrader-33500-EZ-Sensor-p/ezst17r-toyota-tundra.htm
Took maybe 5 different 20+ minute drives and they never synced.
Even after a 1.5 hour trip, they wouldn’t sync.
Then just now after a 5 minute drive, they synced up.
I just did the TPMS setup process everytime I got in the truck and they eventually synced up.
    Mounted in method 707s

Dang that makes no sense whatsoever lol. I’ve taken two 3 hours drives this weekend and nothing. I did not do the tmps setup though.

From Toyota TIS for people who having issue with the automatic ID registration. There's kind of a driving pattern to get it to pickup the new sensor.

I can absolutely confirm that the tpms from oem steel SR wheels work and mount perfectly to aluminum wheels.

Hey guys, so I got these same TPMS that came with my wheel/tire package from TireRack. Can anyone confirm if I can switch the metal valve stem piece to a standard black rubber stem? TIA

No you can’t, you’ll need another brand with black stem.

Following up for anyone else doing this. I ordered these off eBay and had Tire Discounters mount them in new wheels. They said they set them and everything was reading in the truck. I had my suspicions they did not and it was reading my old wheels in the bed. Sure enough, once I took my old wheels out of the bed, nothing was reading.

I tried the auto identify for a 2 days and just couldn't get it to work. Being impatient as I am, I stopped back over at TD and they were able to force register them in about 2 min.

Point being, you can force register them much quicker and than trying to do this auto register method.

So let me get this straight, if I order these to put in my aftermarket wheel/tire setup do I have to take them to the dealer to be programmed or can I do it myself at home on the truck?
If they need dealer programmed do they have to be outside of the wheels?

I would like to keep the sensors in my stock wheels for spares when/if needed.

Sorry in advance if these questions have already been answered. Thanks!

Correct. I have the original sensors in my spares. Bought new tire, wheels and sensors. They should program themselves to your truck if you follow the learning steps. I didn't want to wait for them to learn, so I had tire discounters force learn them, since they were doing the mount and balance already. Don't need to go to dealer. TD has a tool that can force them in 2 seconds.
