Dude. Run your sawzall blade (hopefully one with finer teeth) right thru the rubber bushing, beneath that cup washer. It will even act as a guide for you.

Looking at your picture, I'm pretty sure I was holding the Dremel on the inside position of the framerail and cutting along the post. I dunno, mine fit, and it's a normal sized Dremel. But there is a washer, you can cut however you like.

We had to lift the bed to do my rear shocks when I lifted my truck, so we could get the sawzall in there :sawzall:

Baby powder. Lots of baby powder. But won't work in CA, because prop 65, cancer causing ingredients.

    Here’s the skinny…
Able to get the left shock out and cut the right shock but the 17 mm shock bolt won’t spin out with an impact. Smoked the bushing inside instead. Now cutting and working on punching it out. Taking tomorrow off unfortunately to deal with this crap. :(

I feel for you rusty doods. When I changed mine out it was a slow process with the ratcheting wrench but it was easy. Barely enough access but we got it done without all these rust complications. Fucking rust.

@txagg , the metal sleeve shock bushing is stuck to the bolt and we broke it free but only by ripping it from the rubber bushing eyelet of the shock with the impact. Sucker is glued on there right.

Hey man, me and @TN Erik are in charge of all the mangling here. Did you put in a request chit and seek approval from the council before mangling?

I did not. I figured I could later pay @Outbound for the paperwork with all the loose Canadian change I’ve found over the years.

FYI...my father did the mangling, not me.(aren't I nice making an 85 year old man crawl underneath to do that, but he insisted)

Next time, I'll buy some sharp cold chisels since his suck (all dull). At least with those I only need a partial mangling with the whizzer before chiseling the last 1/4 of the bolt to break it.

Surprisingly, I don’t feel the jolt from riding over small 1-2 inch potholes in the road without shocks. Actually rides better believe it or not. I do feel the rear end go up and down slowly after I hit a bump though due to lack of shocks (need to wait for those new shock bolts/nuts to arrive tomorrow before finishing the job).
