Wine, margs, and mods at base camp with the homies. What else? We've don't all the "official" trails. We can roll out as the mood strikes. I'm still hoping our trails open. 'Been hearing my entire life about Soldier Pass; I'd sure like to go!

 I actually like that it's permitted since there are only so many turn around points and pull outs. When we did it, there were three other vehicles on the trail besides our four and two of them were parked for the hike. And tons of hikers.

Should be plenty of overlandering opportunities in the area if Coconino NF decides to stay closed.

Do you run custom knuckles to fit 17s rim or BDS knuckles clears them?

17s clear the brakes and BDS spindles/knuckles - a lot of those that wheel are on 17s. I don't think custom spindles are really a thing - at least I don't think so. A lot of the LT guys will gusset their stock spindles and that's usually enough for them.

Wheel offset has to be considered because the more positive offset gets the wheel closer to the center of the truck, which you will then have to contend with the spindle along with things like the body mount, inside corners of the bumper, and the sway bar.

That's awesome, seems like only BDS knuckles would clear the 17 rim, unlike Procome and RC.

    But the stock spindles/knuckle won't work with a 6" lift or 7"...

Correct, because they're too short. That's why taller lift kits come with spindles.

What a long long week. After leaving T2S on Friday morning to go to Stagecoach in the Coachella Valley I had yet another misadventure.

Since my truck was still shaking, which was making me paranoid, I scheduled a morning appointment to get the rest of my wheels balanced at Discount Tire in Kingman. Halfway there I pullover to get gas. Tried to pump gas but the stupid pump would just click. Get a squirt of gas in and click. Click. Click. WTF?! Stupid gas station! So I went across the street to the other gas station - same thing. Uh oh. That's when I realized I somehow triggered the rollover check valve inside the fuel tank. Fuuuuuuckk! After 20 minutes I was able to get 8 gallons in and just left to make my appointment.

I read on the forum that the fix is to drop the fuel tank, remove the filler neck/hose, and pop the valve back in. I didn't have time for that shit. Once my truck was in the shop I walked over to Home Depot and bought these wire fishing tools.

    upload_2023-5-1_17-35-24.jpg

    upload_2023-5-1_17-35-51.jpg

I stuck the flexible pole in the filler neck but it didn't get far. So I stuck the fishing tape in and got about 3-3.5' in before it couldn't go any further. I started poking at whatever was on the other end pretty hard. Went to a gas station and filled right up  I'm going to carry this mofo in my toolbox from now on.

The gas station we filled up at in Cottonwood kept pouring out gas after the tank was full so I put it back in the filler. Overfilling/topping off the tank will trigger the valve.

You're the first on here I've known to find a way to fix this and move on, without dropping the tank or waiting for it to dry out. Good work!

Yep! Had the roll over valve issue after a hard day of whoops at the dunes. Undid the two straps tilted the tank down and proceeded to make it inoperative. Their's a cross hair looking plastic piece before you got the metal flap.So far it hasn’t been an issue but I may carry that tool you got just Incase lol

Got this today. It's the eBay M14x1.50 ones that @Vizsla has. Thinking I'll change them out every 2 years (studs and lugs).

Too lazy to drop the tank because the tank skid will be a bitch to remove. This is where the filler neck goes into. Do I just remove this and poke inside the tank?

You’ll first have to punch through the siphon screen. Then the valve has a hinge that you’ll make inoperable.
