Finally got around to installing the led's. I used a fuse tap ,tying into the headlight low beam. So they only come on when the lights are on. The inigition fuse is already being used by my headlights.

 

I bought one off eBay yesterday for $299 shipped, has the orange lights.

I almost bought the EAG mesh grill for $199 by mistake but then I noticed that is a custom 2nd Gen grill and not the “Trd pro grill”.

The seller in China wanted me to send pics and details of my truck after purchase to ensure it’s a match, idk.?

Update: 12/13/2022 I got the grill, updated Toyota emblem painted silver, and orange led lights. The grill and outter trim are 1 unit and do not come apart like the OEM unit.
All in all it looks like a high quality piece.

 

I got the grill in and on.
Still not done with frontend work but wanted to share for the group.

Fit and finish is good.
Lights seem fine but I haven’t wired them in yet.
I reused the OEM metal bottom brace, this one came with a cheap plastic retainer.
This one did not include female clips needed in hood so save your old ones, but did include the male clips.

the method that holds the latch onto the grill backside is thin and flimsy, popped off the first time I opened it, I put a fatter screw in but I know it’s a matter of time till I need another solution.

unexpected bonus for me is that the TOYOTA is painted almost my exact color silver (silver sky metallic). I would paint the trim but it would just get scratched up anyways plus I could use the money elsewhere like a new rear bumper.

Quick question for those that have already installed their grill...
I currently have amber lights in my grill, tied into my running lights. They work well and I like the way that they look. They're too big for this new grill, so I'm thinking of this as a replacement (

I'm just not sure if there is enough room in between the slots to get the bolt style LED in there. I already have the wiring pre-run, so my only real concern is being able to fit it in the right place. I have the Morimoto XB's and want the Amber DRL on those to line up with the Bolt Style LED that I posted the link for. The ones provided as an option when purchasing the grill are for the second row (which would make the lights not line up evenly) so I need to be able to fit the Bolt Style Amber LED in the top row.

Got my grille installed today, Insert by Rube207 should be arriving on Tuesday. Looks amazing so far! I plan on painting the Toyota letters black to match the truck when it warms up.

This mirrors my overall experience with them as well. Ordered 2/13 received 3/10. Got a cool glove box lock slicker also.

For the more recent swappers, what are grills going for lately? I let a few slip by on marketplace months ago for $40-75, now everything I see is $150-200+.
