I'm in the middle of a really bad, 43 consecutive days in the shop bad, experience with a new F150. I'm a little overly cautious on my next buy. I'm closely looking at Tundras and the wind noise issues comes up often. I think I've read all the threads but can't find any TSB's or even how common it is on Gen 3's. Even narrowing it down to the mirror vs the molding seems foggy.
Is there a final fix for this?
To be clear, I'm not in anyway bashing Tundras. Just trying to sort an issue.
    Thanks.

I have a 150 miles on my new Limited crew cab. If there is wind noise, it's no worse or better than any other truck I've driven or owned. It's a truck. It's quieter than my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax.

With all the posts on here, I expected it to sound like I was in a wind tunnel right out the gate. It's not like that at all.

I know this probably doesn't help "solve" the issue. But my new new 2023 is fine.

I think it’s hit or miss for most folks here. I never had it and it developed over time. Mine was the mirror and it was only low speed. I have 30K on my 22 and it runs perfect. I’ve had a few of the minor recalls and TSB’s done during oil changes. I know there are a lot of haters here, but I absolutely love my truck. Good luck and sorry to hear about your F150

I am one of the unfortunate souls who have excessive wind noise. I’ve had it since day one, which was January 2022. Zero resolutions so far. I’ve had a couple other minor built quality issues that my dealership has addressed, no problems. All the service people and techs all agree that the noise from my windows is excessive and unacceptable but they haven’t found a solution. My truck goes in for a full week at the beginning of May and they will apparently be doing anything and everything to fix it. Unfortunately up here in Canada, we don’t have any lemon laws, otherwise I would be very tempted. My dealership has been great as far as service and other fixes but it seems they are handcuffed by corporate and there is no universal fix for it. I love the truck, other than this extremely annoying problem.

The issue seems hit or miss. I think if you test drove the truck before you buy it you would know. I’ve got 2500mi on my truck and could not be happier, and no issues whatsoever. I’ve even marveled that the cabin is so quiet for a truck. Totally free of wind noise and creaking interior pieces. I had an Audi S6 before this so I know a quiet cabin.

My truck has the standard mirrors not the towing with PVM cameras and I’ve wondered if that’s why I’m not getting the wind noise issues but, who knows.

having come from a 2018 Audi s5 myself and now In a 23 platinum, I find the tundra to be significantly quieter than my Audi even when it was new. I was constantly dealing with rattles and creaking from plastic parts which drove me insane. The road noise is noticeable but not bad at all.

I have Zero wind noise that everyone speaks of. Note: I have tow mirrors which may or not be the solution and I am bone stock , I also have a 1794 which has Active Noise Cancelletion so maybe it is getting masked. I can say this truck is quieter that My 2 F350's my Dodge 3500 and my 2012 Tundra .

If you get the JBL sound system that comes with the upper trims.....go to the dealer and tell theme to shut off the EES ( Enhanced Engine Sound, or fake engine noise ). Its a dream with that retarded gimmick shut off

Kelowna Toyota up here in BC Canada.
I got to test drive a different truck, mine was one of the first come up to western Canada and I, wrongly, assumed that they’d all be the same.

I do agree with worksjo, if you test drive the one you’re planning on buying, get it up to highway speeds and you’ll know immediately.

We do get up to Kelowna to visit with relatives. Our dealership is Jim Pattison Downtown. Great sales team but not happy with the service department.

Kelowna might be a bit of a drive but it could be worth it if the service is good.

Asheville is a small market, most likely I'll be buying from an out of town dealer and it will be tough to drive in advance.
Is there a fix if you have the wind noise or just the old fashioned way of finding the and adjusting the strip. I can't be that big of a deal to quiet down.

I’m waiting at my servicing dealer right now for my first oil change at 1400 miles (out of OEM service cycle) and I haven’t noticed any wind noise, yet. My hearing isn’t very good but my wife and daughters have ridden in the truck many times at different speeds and they can’t hear any wind noise. The daughters are college young and have excellent hearing so I asked them to listen for it because of all the complaints on this forum. I’m one of those buyers that performs many hours of research before any major purchase and bought my truck without a test drive. My first ride was picking it up. I also turned off the fake engine noise myself and you can still hear the exhaust but it’s much quieter without the phony engine sound.

My wife asks me if my new truck has a broken muffler or exhaust because of that piped in 'engine'. It's getting turned off in my next visit.

All you got to do is a nice long 30 min test drive on the highway before you buy. Drive different directions so wind blows from different sides. Just pay attention how wind noise and road noise is and if it's ok or not for you. You'll be fine!

When I was shopping most dealers wanted some amount of cash to hold a vehicle if it wasn't on the lot yet. Every dealer told me it was refundable. I put 500 down on my 23, test drove it, then signed. Obviously take for a test drive at highway speed.

My driver door area is terrible especially with a cross wind. The door alignment is off some on the driver door vs passenger side. If I have the climate fan cranked up and radio loud I don’t hear it but otherwise it sounds like an old school truck with the smoker window cracked open all the time. Overall I love my 2023, but the wind noise is silly for a new vehicle. First dealer I went to claimed nothing abnormal was found and the aftermarket tires made some road noise. They didn’t want to dig in and actually fix it.

I have 1000 miles on my 2023 1794 which was purchased in February. I don't have any wind noise issues. So far very impressed with the truck. Had some issues, as I usually do with a new vehicles. But I corrected them to my liking. The only issue I have left is the delayed acceleration from a stop. But even that has improved by itself or my foot did some auto learning. If I decide to take it to the dealer for some other issue, I'll ask them to perform the TSB

My dealer is aware of the issue and actually asked me about it during my first service. I told him there might be some but for me it isnt like a really loud noise, truck is quieter than my mustang and more noise than my cx9. I don't know if mine has abnormal wind noise or its just a square going through the air. :)

I prefer the sound of the REAL engine and the twin Turbos spooling over that garbage thru the speakers. Also when you are cruising and hit a hill the truck is silent as it climbs the hill versus some rumbling crap LOL .....I am tilted

I unfortunately have a ton of wind noise from the driver side mirror area. The window seals also creak and pop. I'd like to have it fixed but highly doubt the dealer will even acknowledge it let alone do anything about it.

I really like the engine noise as it just sounds more sporty and better than any V6 exhaust could possibly sound. I turned it off just to see what it was like with the Carista app and immediately turned it back on.

    Hell yea!
I just had camper shell installed and now hear the engine and exhaust more when I open rear window. The exhaust actually has a very pleasant rumble to it which I never heard until camper was installed!

Read few pages back in this thread, you have to do your own diagnostics, tape up all seams of window, door and figure out where wind noise is getting in from. Read this post for more info.
