What size rims and tires? are those the biggest without additional leveling etc?

 

I know flame decals are good for a 15hp boost. How much are turbo decals good for?

I put them on for two reasons, 1. I’ve never had a turbo truck and I wanted to remind myself that my fingers are crossed on the longevity of our engines; 2. To educate the public that my truck is more bad ass than yours.

 

1. Have faith, my friend. Toyota may have some foibles along the way, but they stand behind their product. Unlike other brands, in particular Ford which in my experience is proud of building garbage.

2. A perfectly legitimate reason.

Why change so soon? The manual says 10k

 

Was the 120 plug already there or did you need to run all wiring? I have an SR5 with nothing there.

 

I can't speak for @wayoflife, but for myself I changed the factory fill at 1k miles. Personal preference really. I'd rather get any metal shavings and debris from break-in out of the motor as soon as possible. I also follow the alternative schedule in the manual (I don't recall what Toyota calls it) that they specify 5k miles/6 month intervals. The 10k interval is really only if you're doing a lot of highway miles. So I personally am changing oil every 6 months.

1.5k, 5k, then every 5k.

 

Love the look, they ride quiet. Not the best MPG though

 

I'm doing 5k mile oil changes as well, per Toyota's "Special Operating Conditions." I don't follow the 6 month rule though...that seems bogus to me and I'm running Amsoil Signature Series which has been good for way longer periods and miles on my other vehicles per oil analysis reports I've ordered.

I think I dumped the original oil at 1500 miles or so too, same reasoning you mentioned..just made sense.

Yeah, doing it every 6 months is probably overkill especially considering that in my case at the 6 month mark the oil usually only has around 2k miles on it. The primary reason I'm doing it is possible thinning of the oil due to fuel dilution since I have lots of short trips and very low yearly mileage with occasional travel trailer towing. I did order a Blackstone kit though and was planning to start doing oil analysis, so will probably sample at 6 months and if all looks good stretch it out to a year. I plan on keeping this truck for a very long time, so even if I'm changing every 6 months it's just cheap insurance in my book.

 

Does that mess with the sensors or front safety camera?
