No call back yet, but I sent their shop manager a text. I'm guessing since they are normally swapping the stock injectors for the green ones during their supercharger installs it likely appeared that I was going backwards in injector size since the FiveO's resemble the stock injector. That's probably what threw them for a loop.

Maybe the lighting? I'm pretty sure mine were tan as well when I opened the box. Don't get me all paranoid now...

Edit. Here is a picture saved on my phone.

Ok guys, a few questions for you...

So I just got a call and they went over a few things with me. They do not want to install the Walbro 450 based off their research and prior builds. I was told that it was highly recommended that a fuel pressure regulator be used with that pump and also upgrading the output and return lines which is a little outside their wheelhouse. They don't want any liability issues w/o doing those additional items, but again that is not something that they handle so they don't want to swap the pump only. They said to keep the stock flex fuel pump in place, but they will install the 750cc injectors and replace the coupler and swap the smaller pulley on. Will this cause me any issues? They recommended Dyno Comp to install the fuel pump and any additional required items for that. They also said that the AFR gauge they wanted to pass on because the whole header needed to come off to install the bung in the correct location.

So I guess my question is how screwed will I be if they keep the flex fuel pump in place and I used the 750 injectors and smaller pulley? @snivilous is it okay to still flash my 750 tune? I assume the tune is still needed due to the larger injectors, but wondering if I'll be running out of fuel with my current pump. Is it okay to keep like that and then see if Dyno Comp can do my fuel pump and gauge at a later date? I hope I'll be okay as long as I don't run WOT?

Edit: Just to add, their tech talked to Jeff who was pushing 700hp on his Tundra and was still running the flex fuel pump w/o issues for what it's worth.

I can tell you I ran out of fuel with the stock Magnuson pump with a 2.45 pulley, I installed the 450 pump only and all was good.

Regular or flex fuel pump? Did you also run the hardwire kit or just drop the pump in place?

Regular, I dropped the pump in, needed a few adjustments, I also ran a inline filter.

There is a pipe between the header and catback that the place I had the bung installed by r&r'd in under 15 minutes.

Also, the flex pump looks like the 450.

Yes, the mid pipe is easy to remove and install the bung.

Yeah, I recall seeing your picture. I was thinking of showing that to them and see if I can get the ball rolling again on that piece at least. Maybe I can get them to drop the Walbro 450 in as just a pump replacement and utilize the factory wiring for now? I know that's not what they want to do, but maybe I can sign a waiver or something...I'm thinking the Walbro 450 on stock wiring is better than keeping the stock flex fuel pump at this point.

Don’t be surprised shops don’t want to install that pump, if you haven’t, read back a bit and see the customer support @e30cabrio received. It’s solid advice, way better for reliability and troubleshooting/servicing if the stock pump is fine…, don’t doubt Jeff but:notsure:. Need a fuel pressure gauge regardless with fuel system mods, might be good place to start. Just take it somewhere else for the AFR gauge.

After the bung was installed, installing the PSB-1 was easy.

I'm going to give it another shot with them tomorrow. I need to swing by late morning and flash the new tune for the 750 injectors. I'll show them the mid pipe and placement I'd like (copying your picture) and see if that changes anything. Also, if they will reconsider just dropping the pump in w/o the hardwire kit. I think I'd feel better taking that route than nothing at all. Whatever doesn't get installed I'll follow up with Dyno Comp to see if they will handle.

It’s crazy to me that to this day no one can quote the actual flow rating of the stock FFV pump. I have read it’s “over 255lph” and that it’s a lower output version of the Ti/Walbro 450 pump.

Yeah, there's three different sizes of restrictor rings that come with each defouler. Figured for $25 ea, I'd go this route. Will keep posted of course on how it goes, but the guy doing my exhaust said he's used them on a lot of Tundras with no issues.

You already can remove those and not get codes, since they located after the secondary O2s. Been thinking about it myself to keep them for if my primary cats blow out, then I can have those welded in their place and not have them destroyed by the failing primaries.

Don't start that truck in the garage, it's gonna be a stinker! The tacoma smelled like rotten eggs after I went catless. I added the secondary cats back on not too long after.

My 2014 is a FFV. When I installed my Harrop with the stock injectors and was having a problem tuning it to be rich enough at Stage 1, I spoke to Chris at Harrop about it. He did not recommend installing the DW pump that came with the kit as he told me the DW was smaller than the factory FFV pump. I went with the 650 injectors and the Stage 2 80mm pulley and have had zero issues. Tuned at 10-10.5 AFR at WOT. Made 512 rwhp on a conservative tune.

Must have been your Tacoma. My Tundra has been catless since the SC install and it doesn't smell. Maybe from behind me if I am into the throttle but when i pull it into the garage, no smell. The rotten egg smell is usually from the cats.

My catless 350Z stunk! Don’t miss that smell at all.
