    Hello there.

My tailgate latch broke the other day and I need to replace it. I have a bed liner on the inside of the tailgate that I need to remove and need the torque bolt size for the bolts for that and the cover that covers the latch assembly.

    Thanks

Those bolts that hold on the long rectangular latch cover and arms inside the tailgate are T30, and they should still be under the bedliner if you can get to them with some paint stripper or something. Those are the only bolts that should be affected by your bedliner; the bolts that hold the latch on (from the inside) are still there and you will likely reuse those to install your replacement latch (it will also use the same lock mechanism).

Make sure to give everything a good spray down after install with some dry lubricant so you don't have to yank so hard on the next latch.

Please follow these directions to refresh your tailgate so your handle doesn't break again: https://www.tundras.com/threads/how...gate-clip-repair-overhaul-beef-up-lube.94180/

And if you're smart, you'll avoid aftermarket handles, and avoid parts sold on scAmazon or fleaBay. I know one member on here that's on their 3rd aftermarket handle already, and has spent more than the OEM handle on those three aftermarket handles. And another member who got a counterfeit on scAmazon.

If you need p/n for the bolts, I can grab those for you.
