All, check out this B/S. 4years ago I bought a 2008 tundra in Fredericksburg Va, they convinced me to get the unlimited service for free oil changes and inspection for life ( but we all know it was over 1000.00) not very free by telling me I could go to the sheehy Nissan dealership in mechanicsville Va as the other dealerships were an hour away 5 months later Hart bought sheehys location and would only honor vehicles bought at that location the dealerships manager even laughed and said there are other dealerships I can take it to and as we all know when it’s free as they call it that means drop and hope you get it back that day. I should have traded it right then. I recently bought (from a very honest family that has been very involved) that needed a mimotor mount and oil pan because of the motor mount. I checked the recall site on the truck and all recalls were completed so I bought it for my son that made 3 Toyotas in our drive. When I started to do the repair it was the frame that had rusted out in the front end I spoke to the service manager of jones Toyota and they assured me they completed the corrosion resistant compound from the fuel tank back ( that was the first recall and before the work was done on this truck the second campaign was added covering the front which was never completed and Toyotas response was the same as before laughed and said the vehicle is too old to still be covered even though it was never done. I got them to check my 2008 for recalls that I bought from a dealership that showed me there were no open recalls however the rusty frame wasn’t done and according to Toyota the dealership didn’t have to tell me about the recall because it can hinder a sale nor are they required to complete a recall before selling a used vehicle. Now I know a lot people will say it’s a bad situation glad it didn’t happen to me but it reasons like this that makes your resale and trade in offers drop so it’s all of our problems. I’m looking for some advice if anyone had luck with corporate as they tell me as long at it shows that homes Toyota checked the recall completed box it doesn’t matter to them if the work wasn’t done. Please help. Thanks

Might have better results concerning recalls on a 2008 by posting in the 2nd Gen Forum.

Doh! I thought he was saying he'd bought 3 Tundras. I have a rough time with comprehension on walls of text.

But yeah @Ftoyotacustserv, this sub-forum is for 2000-2006, so is the thread I linked. It probably won't be helpful for you.

Yup, wasn't knocking it. It's more my issue than anything.

For whatever reason, if there's no new paragraph after half a dozen sentences, it's like my brain does the equivalent of trying to read the entire thing out loud without taking a breath. By the time I get to the end of it, I'm dying to breathe.

    I think you were right.

The way I read it he bought the '08 from a dealer 4 years ago, then bought another unspecified Toyota vehicle (we can presume it's a Tundra since this is Tundras.com, but we'll have to speculate further as to the model and year) recently from a private party and it has a rust issue.

His profile lists an '08 and an '03, so I would guess that's the one with the rust issue.
