I finally got around to taking off those ugly, factory Toyota running boards. Man, those things are hideous.

Just bought some aftermarket ones, probably gonna put them on next weekend. Only got them because the truck is a little high for my wife and kid to get in easily though, so I was more after function than looks.

This is exactly what I heard from my wife and kids. I guess I will be looking for some aftermarket ones also. Just want something that tucks up closer to the truck. Suggestions?

    Pretty things
    Make em climb!

My wife is 5'3 and has no issue getting in w/o boards. 2" level with +1" tires.

My Mom with broken shoulder, she had to bring a collapsible stool.

Only way I'm adding anything in the area is sliders.

Sell your wife on sliders. Little grip-tape on the topside... Stilettos at your own risk, but I suppose that always goes without saying

I did the plugs shortly after I bought the truck with 150,000. I'm pretty sure they were the original plugs and they looked okay for being that old.

Throttle body coolant bypass, decided to just replace the hose with some spare at the shop instead of using a plastic vacuum T fitting, routed around upper radiator hose so it wouldn't hit the belt. Also wrapped the hose in plastic conduit where it rubs on metal to keep it from rubbing through. Used rubber caps for carburetor block offs to close off the throttle body nipples.

Yes I know its dirty... wheeling this weekend so no sense in getting everything clean :crapstorm:

Update: Got the Front Runner Outfitters Low Profile Slimline II cab rack installed. So far I've remounted my awning to the passenger's side using the Quick Release mounts, and added two rack handles to the driver's side. I switched out the stock wind deflector and replaced it with a full wind fairing. I have also mounted a 42L water tank as well as my Wolf Pack Pro using the new MKII brackets onto the bed rack. Chase and Ditch lights are now wired as well!

Any chance you have access to a tool (Autoenginuity, etc) that can read the live voltage off the O2 sensor? I ask since my quick search seems to indicate that P0031 can also be low voltage signal from the sensor. That CAN be due to a bad sensor, but can also be a bad wire, or from a simple exhaust leak.

Here's a screen capture of one of my banks on a Lexus V8. The red line is the first (front) O2 sensor, and the blue is the rear one. The red one oscillates as the engine varies the mixture. Higher voltage is low O2 (rich) and lower voltage is higher O2 (lean). The 2nd one dampens out due to the cat (as the remaining oxygen is consumed in the catalyst). This graph is how it should look, but on my other bank the blue was flatlined low voltage due to a pinhole leak in the exhaust.

Nope! I was able to source the correct Denso sensor for $100 and will install this weekend to see if it gets rid of the issue.

Hopefully that solves your issue. If the issue remains, I'd humbly suggest checking the wiring and checking for small exhaust leaks.

    Cheers!

Still waiting on rear bumper for Tundra, it got delayed in shipping.

I did however pick up a new trail buddy (for my oldest son)…. 2015 jeep grand Cherokee 4x4 overland edition.

I can push a button and it raises up a couple inches. Underneath is completely covered with shields for driving through brush I assume.
    It’s 4x4 and super nice inside, 137,000 miles, $13,000.

my tundra is in the pic so hopefully I get a pass

Edit: I tried to get a comparable Tacoma but they were either junk or $25,000.

I put a few more miles on it and yeah, 5W/30 significantly quieted the engine. Do recommend.

I cannot say that I noticed a huge difference. But I don't regret the switch. I was more interested in the protection during hours of towing at 3000rpm. The owners manual hits at more viscosity for hard use.

None yet but the list is growing
Installed a new rear bumper as the existing was damaged from previous owner. Did not go with anything fancy yet, as I am still new to this truck. Just wanted to get something nicer than what I had on it. Next is the running boards as they have damage to them as well. I will post pic's soon.

Installed a gadget to show the front camera automatically after I switch out of reverse:

    44B4163C-965C-45F8-A319-0A21258AA3C0.jpg

Basically you wire it between your cameras and your aftermarket head unit. You run the reversing wire into the gadget, and the gadget sends the reverse signal to the head unit when you select any camera. After switching out of reverse it shows the forward camera for a few seconds.

Two other cameras can the triggered with 12v. They're designed to be triggered by turn signals but I intend to install a camera on top of my tailgate for when I'm backing up with the tailgate down.

It has a wireless remote to manually show any of up to 4 cameras. I only have front and rear at the moment. I stuck it on the steering column.

can you post a photo of your front mounted camera and a photo of the head unit facing forward?

when you press F, does it automatically override what’s going on on the head unit? Then how do you get rid of it/return your screen to normal.

I’m so interested in a front facing camera that can be controlled at will.

.... Crap, I just noticed you're running an '07, so you might want to message Lou @TundraTex and see if he has a setup now for the Gen 2s; if he does, his equipment is reliable and customer service is spot on!

I assume you're meaning in the past; if so, that's weird cuz he's always been responsive w/me... Maybe try sending him a PM :notsure:, but yeah if you've msg'd him in the past and got nothing, I understand blowing my recommendation off. I don't remember seeing anything w/the Gen2s ever coming out, so maybe not...

Maybe that other set up will prove to be reliable... Seems to be much cheaper as well, but I get a little nervous about quality when the price seems too good.

Good luck on finding something that works for you though
