Maybe I should do the suspension first and then evaluate a different tire.

I need to message you about your ADS setup. I use my truck pretty similar to you, I think.

Happy to share everything I’ve done, as well as the ins and outs of how it goes together.

Well. Seems like Falken’s retail price just went up today. Only about $45 for the set of 285/75-18, but it all adds up, right?

I jumped on the Google and saw Amazon selling them for quite a bit less, so I jumped. $343.42 per tire is a good bit less than the $394 that they just went up to. Was $386 just yesterday…. Assuming they won’t get cheaper.

I’ve got access to a tire machine and balancer, as well as a former Discount Tire guy, so I’m not worried about the install.

Just wanted to mention in case anyone else is looking for these tires right meow.

I plan to put them in the shop with the new wheels and let them rest till next fall when I’m due for new rubber. No sense in taking these off since they’re still great.

No more fuckin’ around with brakes! Got my Alcon BBK put on yesterday. After a good bedding process, this thing is ridiculous when you hit the binders. Braking is off the charts.

Thanks to Rey for the advice and help spending my money. Also put longer wheel studs all the way around, and replace the Uni-Balls in my UCAs with Delta Joints via MCM. Realignment of the front end afterward, with about 5° of caster to help make more room for the taller tires in a few months…

Don’t judge me, I’m not good at washing my shocks…

It’s crazy. I haven’t even tried an aggressive panic stop yet. Just got them bedded and want to give them several good heat cycles before I hammer on them.

Guessing I’ll want to have my seatbelt on. I had no idea that brakes could be like this…

Did your dad’s squeal a bit when new? Under light pedal pressure, I get a little bit of squeal.

bedding and run in should be good. I was pretty careful with that process.

    His response

    Normally no noise.
I sometimes get a slight squeal at a walking pace. Maybe dirty or not up to temp but other than that no noise.

That sounds just like mine. I greased the rotors last night when I got home. Hoping that fixes it:).

I just turn up the radio a little. Lol.
It’s not very loud and I bet will go away. I’m actually headed back to my buddies shop this week to pick some stuff up. I’ll have him take a peek.

Shouldn’t be anything at all I suspect. Just small price for high performance brakes

Oh, I’m not bitchin’. They don’t make much noise, and not the often.
They were silent for the first couple days and just started a little squeal. Assuming that’ll go away with a little more wear.

I suggest you go to 195/55R16 with 16x6 wheels. HUGE fuel savings, if the Prius shows us anything

I like what you're saying, but I'll need to go larger on the wheels to fit over the brakes. Prolly something like a 195/45-17 should work. Prius Sport.

It's probably bad that two of my daughters (18 & 22) drive Priussus. We make fun of them, but the two cars have nearly a half million miles combined with only an A/C pump needed on one of them. Starting batteries (OEM) were both replaced after close to 8 years and they're both on the the OEM hybrid battery. Oil changes and tires are all they've needed...
