You drop the headliner, remove the 3rd brake light, remove cameras and wiring harness, plug the holes, run the extension cables outside of the truck and hook everything back up- super easy.

I have some installation instructions on the website. It's pretty straightforward. The most annoying part is getting the third brake light out. A 10mm deep socket on a stubby really helps in that tight area. I am still working on some ways to mount the cameras that works for most people. Id like to offer. A water proof mount for those with racks who want to mount the cameras outside and a few mounts for the inside the topper.

Hey y'all, I wanted to give a quick update that I got the cables in and they're shipping out now.
Thanks for all the support on this. Im just glad we can use the mirror again because it really is a nice safety feature.
I wanted to announce here that I also decided to make a cable that breaks out the brake light and illumination light. It plugs right inline with the third break light. I figure it might be useful for some to get all the topper wiring done at once. Let me know if this is even useful to you, I know you can also just grab the brake signal from the tail lights. Made one with just short pigtails for using your own wire, and one with 26' of 24 awg wire in a cable.IMG-20230226-WA0000.jpg IMG-20230226-WA0001.jpg 20230219_141453.jpg

I'm prototyping that right now actually. I'll send you out a prototype!upload_2023-3-1_22-20-8.jpg

The first prototype shakes quite a bit. This time I'm scaling it back and reducing the weight to see if that helps.

Just got my Lakeland cap installed yesterday! Got the headliner, pet screens, front slider, and a 42" LED bar for $2350. Only took them 3 weeks from ordering to delivery, one of their first 6.5' caps.

@GG.Offroad any idea of the weight of your topper? I am looking for something that is a little lighter and easier to install/uninstall than a traditional fiberglass topper. I like the idea of being able to remove it if I need the bed space. Think it looks great on your truck!

Installed @GG.Offroad camera relocation kit. Works great, install was easy. Happy to have my digital rearview mirror back.

On a side note, removing the third break light for removing the camera's would have been easier to do before the canopy was installed.

@Rusty21 Good lookin install Youre right its a real pain to get the 3rd brake light off once the camper is on. I ended up sliding mine half way back so I could stand in the front of the bed. If the front window flips down its not so bad.

Nice install! I’m going to have to drill out the bed and add those grommets when i get home this week.
If you have carpeted headliner get some one sided male Velcro to cover up the wiring- works great

I have some instructions at www.ggoffroad.com/install
Youll want to run it down the passenger side pillar trim and wither to the wire grommet that's under the rear seat, or to the grommet that's under the front passenger seat. Then you'll just zip tie it with the rest of the wires that run along the top of the frame toward the bed.

    Under rear seat grommet:

jcneng how does fit/finish on the SnugTop look? Are you happy with it? Paint Match look good? I ordered a SnugTop Mid-Rise cab from a dealer back in September and still don't have a delivery date. I keep getting mixed responses saying it's in production and then that there is an issue with the mold among other things. Hasn't really instilled confidence. I also have the 6.5' bed so am curious if that is giving them trouble. Just don't want to be the guinea pig in getting the first one they build and understand they have changed ownership/production facility location in the last couple of years and maybe aren't as dialed as they previously were? Any insight you can share in terms of the quality on yours would definitely make me feel a bit better about sticking it out.

As an SP owner with no GFC experience, I'm a huge fan of the SP and the wire chases really are fantastic for concealing cables. They also have a ton of threaded bosses and tie off points that come in super handy as you modify the bed. And as another poster mentioned, it is built around the Exped which is super comfortable and is a 30 second inflate with a small electric inflator.

Got the Leer 100XR now and some new wheels. I'd like to get the camera relocation kit mentioned here, but I am not sure of the best way to make the install clean. Would like to see some more examples. @GG.Offroad do you use a single bracket to mount both of the cameras?

    Hi all,

I'm getting my ARE camper installed in couple of days.

Camper has electronic remote locks... Which will need constant power.

Whats the best place for installer to connect power cable for always on power in the bed?

Is the lock/unlock function going to be a separate remote from the truck remote? With Leer there is no additional remote, and it's synched with the truck's lock/unlock.

Yes, I believe ARE has separate remote for lock unlock...

So what's the best spot for installer to connect that camper lock for always on power?

Looks great! Would you mind sharing cost? Also, are you selling the soft top you previously had?
