Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

I am near Albany NY and can find this regularly and I know several guys who have it high on their lists of favorites. Had it a few years ago and thought it just ok, may need to revisit it again.

 

Picked up some Rare Breed today but I'm afraid to smoke a cigar near it.

 

I quite enjoy this one!

I had Jefferson’s Ocean for the first time recently. Very good and smooth.

 

Finally added a bottle of Weller to my stash! My wife had to trade for it as it is never available near me.

 

I’m the one holding the bottle lol

 

I've had this bottle given to me by the wife, who's been obsessed with this chick flick called "Outlander". Hey I'm not complaining this turned out to be one of the smoothest, easy to drink blended Scotch that I highly recommend for all those that can get their hands in this bottle. It hits at about 46% but you would never know as it's smooth and very easy to drink neat.

 

I am very new to the whiskey/bourbon world (have really only ever drank beer) but have always wanted to get started as I am growing bored of drinking beer all the time. After a few random conversations with my boss over the last few months, he decided there is no better way to get started than him getting the ball rolling with my first bottle! Any advice for this amateur...it would be more than welcomed! Cheers!

Mmmmm. Rabbit Hole sherry cask was tasty

 

My stepmom is the same kind of fan, and has bought me three bottles of it over the past couple of years. I concur on the 'highly recommend'.

 

Got talked into this today, damn tastes like hay, not a fan at all.

 

But come on the Yellowstone is the best show so the whiskey has to be good lol

 

My wife bought some Climax cinnamon moonshine from Tim Smith from Moonshiners...it was meh.

On the other hand the "roadside" mason jar I got from a Tennessee trucker friend of mine was excellent.

 

I only saw parts of that show..... i liked the little bit of what i saw but couldn't keep up with all the "drama" but hey, they can keep watching that soap opera as long as I get my scotch as a result of the show set and location. I would rate this one right up there with the likes of Glenlivet and Macallan in the Scotch line up but it has a ding of %46 in comparison to the Waterdown version of the latter at %40 ABV.

 

Ardbeg 10 is my favorite for the money.

Murray McDavid Mission Gold offerings are some of my all-time favorites.

Picked up the first ECBP of the year A123

 

Had to pay a little more for this one cuz it’s Texas only but it’s great juice!

 

A few I had my friend pickup outta state for me.

 

On sale for $30 trying out this bottle of Michter's US 1.

 

That and the base Buffalo Trace and the base Elijah Craig are my favorite under $50 whiskies

 

Really enjoying this one. Only $30 at Walmart.

 

Kids spring break typically means ball tournaments across southern cal. Or as I call it: "the great west bourbon hunt"

The first of hopefully many purchased on this trip. Saw the Woodinville posted a page or so back, but wasnt ready to pull the trigger.

 

A gift from my BIL. Any good? I have never messed with Japanese Whisky, though lately I've been curious so thus seems serendipitous.

 

I've had the Yamazaki 12 and 18; both were really nice but they are somewhat peaty like a mild scotch or like a Bushmills 16 or 1608 if that gives you a reference. I've never even seen that one before.

Hopefully, it's really nice and not like some of the tequilas that come in a grandiose () bottle, but its contents lack any true character

 

I'm thinking the same - could easily go either way. I may give it a shot tonight.
