This is the newer version of it: https://phoenixautomotiveinc.com/pr...-tundra-2007-2013?_pos=2&_sid=056cda12a&_ss=r

I'm really happy with it though I only use it for Carplay and the backup camera. There's a million little tricks and hacks to get it setup with physical buttons and such. Message me if you end up getting it and I'll get you started.

Will do, brother! Seems to be consuming more fuel than usual but I'd imagine it's due to the engine break-in period.

What happened? Pinion seal leaking or did the nut come loose?

These have a crush sleeve that must get replaced if that nut ever moves. That said, the nut is one time use too and gets replaced if ever moved.

In short you need a beam style torque wrench rated in inch/pounds to measure the rotational torque of the bearings and seal as the nut is tightened. You'll need the spec from the manual and to your point, the diff needs to come out and obviously have the carrier pulled to install new pinion bearings and set pinion bearing preload

It may not be a day job...

    The 2010 4.6 also has a 9.5 ring w 3.909 ratio.

Ping me if you need help. I just installed this OS-Giken LSD in my IS-350.

Pinion yoke had a groove worn into it because of dirt, had to replace the yoke and nut, I overtightened the nut on accident (325 ft lbs is what the manual says) and ruined the bearing. I work at a shop but we never do gears; I’m probably gonna drop it off at the local gear guru Thursday. I was gonna attempt myself, but a little nervous about screwing up the backlash and preload and grenading the diff

Did the rear diff breather mod behind the tail light today. It’s these little inexpensive mods that I can’t stop doing. 27DB3666-3C50-400A-972C-6D842AE5E09B.jpg 76AD676A-A190-4046-A064-F8AB61E42826.jpg 1166E16E-F27E-4075-BEA0-00C848533C20.jpg

Replaced a blue button with an orange button. This should have taken about 3 minutes but it took an hour because I did an awful job with the wiring the first time and I had to redo it.

    Anyway orange buttons match better.

Did you buy a whole switch or just swap the LED. The LEDs can be swapped with basic soldering know-how, but I've yet to find an exact color match for the orange in our trucks.

I replaced the switch because it didn't occur to me to just disassemble it!

"upgraded, or downgraded my battery tie down.. It kept slidding off to the sides, because the OEM bracket was too high, so, I took my Celica's spare tie down bracket, and ordered a short J hook from tue back side. Aint going anywhere no more.

    Screenshot_20230312_172525.jpg

installed Crew Max running boards, boards will need some modding, as in drilling out new holes, its about a 10 inch gap on the last bracket.

    1. I installed the Alpharex pro lights “halogen” last night and snapped a couple pics this morning.

    2. I hooked up the DRL module so it functions properly: Orange while running, regardless of headlights being on or off, they turn white when I turn the truck off, after 60 seconds they go black, perfect.

    3. I swapped halogen to led bc it has a cutoff line so it doesn’t blind oncoming traffic at all. Plus I dont want the housing to get hot and start to haze early, etc. The only issue is that they do NOT seem bright to me. I need to try tonight but last night they seemed not too bright, IDK what to do about that yet. I have fog lights but they do shine on opposing traffic at this time, still gotta figure that out so I try to not use them.

The crappy side shot no one wants to give lol

today I got my new headlights to shine properly all thanks to @Shanet421 for sending me a fairly basic how-to bc ultimately I had them facing the completely wrong direction.
So that feels nice to get right.

I also went and looked at buying a 2000 Tundra at a local car lot but unfortunately the frame was super rusted.
I’m no rust expert but this looks bad to me.
Looking for an extra midsize pickup for kids.

Hard to tell from the pictures but that looks like the coating from the frame is flaking off and there is a little bit of surface rust?

That is almost brand new. If it's a 2000 model, it'll still be here in 2050.

Today, for the first time in my life, I saw blinker fluids. I heard they existed but never saw one in person, and on a 2.5 Gen Tundra, too! The right tail light was half full of blinker fluid. Kid you not. HALF FULL!!! Amazing!!!

I tried to have my wife take a pic but we lost the grey 2.5 Gen Tundra in traffic driving southbound on the 5 highway in Cali @ around 3:40pm past Anaheim (Disneyland).

So, if that was you today check your right tail light, take a pic, and share a pic of the mystical BLINKER FLUID!!!

    Pretty things
I would have passed on that one too.

Looks to me like somewhat substantial rust has been spray-painted, and that paint is now flaking off with the rusted material beneath. Where the bed mounts, appears quite rotten in the pictures as well.

Just the fact that someone attempted the "quick fix" would give me pause regarding any other maintenance

I installed the VF Tune for 91 octane, so I can spend even more on gas. It changes the computer's software to adjust the throttle mapping and changes some aspects of the ignition timing to get better performance, particularly with higher-octane gas.

    IMG_1137.jpg

    Questions:
    • What's the difference between the regular and "Torque Modifier" tunes?
    • What does the Tow/Haul button do different now (it's not clear from the docs)? It definitely makes it way more aggressive and stays in lower gears longer (which it always did to an extent). It seems like gear locking does work when I have it in manual shifting; it definitely didn't automatically down-shift.

Installed ICS dash plate, 2 ram mounts and an ICS USB/USB-C charger. Relocated the tow haul button to make room for fog light, driving light, and ditch light switches in the center console area. Also completed the garage door switch mod.

Garage switch looks nice, doesn't it? Got a lot of hate for it when I posted it on FB Tundra group. Never again will I share anything on that media platform.

They do look good and seem like a an okay quality switch even if they are from overseas. I bought the same ones for the fog lights and driving lights so looking forward to getting those in at some point too.
