What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

303'd my dash and center console, cleaned my windows. Had a good opportunity to pick up a better clothes dryer than what we've got for the cost of hauling it away, so stretched the truck's legs out today with a light haul.

Emailed Toytec earlier to get clarification on rear shocks they shipped, waiting a reply.

How can I find the part number or size of the washers that go around the banjo bolt on my PS hose? I've looked this up on various toyota websites but nowhere does it show the actual washer.

Before I look here, did you check the actual Toyota Parts site?

If it's a separately-purchasable part, the number will be listed directly on in Toyota's exploded diagram, which doesn't normally look like the exploded diagram you posted.

Typically smaller generic parts like washers and fasteners will be listed with their full 10-digit hyphenated part number on the diagram. They don't always list the thread pitch and length if you look up that p/n, but ... sometimes you get lucky.

Full-blown parts typically had a number reference which you reference against the parts list under the exploded diagram to find.

 

New Less-than-LacklusterTech rear mat installed. This is apparently only available for '05-'06 access cabs or something. Oh and if anyone needs some used access cab rear mats in (black?), as seen here, gimme a shout. It looks like they had oil come in contact with them at some point, oil tends to warp the rubber underliner on automotive floor mats.

 

Got these “brand-used” upper control arms off the old market place. Got some OE ball joints to go along with em for the front suspension refresh on our 06.

Anyone have some real world feedback on these bushings that were pressed in? Something something…Siberian Bushing company. I’ve used poly bushings before and really wasn’t impressed with them on our 4runner and tacoma, but these seem a little different. Anyhow, worst case scenario if they suck too, I’ll just press a set of OE bushings in the set I pull off the truck, and call it a learning experience

 

Keep us informed of how well they do. It would be nice to have a long lasting alternative to OEM (Siberian bushings of course).

Especially if they’re squeaky.

 

I've heard really good things about the siberian bushings. I would have used them except it's really hard to get right now with the whole Ukraine thing.

 

Removed throttle body and cleaned it thoroughly with cleaner, rags and toothbrush. Truck has 260K on it and no idea if it was done in the past. It severely needed it. Took me about two hours (first time attempting), seemed to smooth out acceleration quite a bit. Only thing I will change next time...count how many rags I started with! Got everything back together and had an Oh Shit! moment trying to remember if I pulled the one out of the manifold to block anything from falling in...I did

I can guarantee with 99% certainty. They have happy hour in Arizona.

 

06 tundra - Left passenger window down and it rained. Lock switch would not work and the door locks made strange clicking noise after shutting driver door.
Removed passenger switch and let it dry in house for days. Re-installed today and it works as it should.

 

Good. In case I take an assignment in that area, I’d like to know.

Every hour is happy hour when you're me. Unless it was me yesterday. That's a different story.

Hell yeah, and it's international women's day today. But there's only one person on here that's a regular I know to say, "HELL YEAH SISTER!" to. But I'm not gonna tag her.

As for what I did today ... Wife is out for something work related. So naturally, I took the kids out for pho b/c they love it, and I prefer to cook vs. clean, and when it's me and them, I get stuck doing a little of both. Son wouldn't shut up as we were loading up in the truck, distracting me, and I forgot to open the garage door before backing out. OOPS. Once again, the rubber bumper in my trailer hitch saved my ass, and probably saved my wooden garage door panel too. It cracked the door panel it on one side, but I was able to secure it back together in a way it's operable.

About my rubber butt plug. You can see it here. It basically makes my hitch receiver stick out about 5/8" past the bumper and makes first contact if I hit anything square. This saved my ass a few weeks back, when I was grabbing some lunch, and an Uber Eats guy pulled up right on my ass in a little import right as I got into the truck. I couldn't see him behind me and ended up tagging his bumper, which was already screwed up, but you could see the rubber square mark where my hitch cover tagged his bumper. Rubber rubbed right off, and he was like, "screw it bro", gave him a fist bump and was on my way.

 

You saw it, right? It's pretty discrete, but functional. I can't recommend one enough. I have a spare if anyone else has factory tow package and prefers not to have a receiver in their hole all the time.

 

That's all I ask for in a butt plug.

 

Oh you're talking about for your truck..... whew! "Discrete and functional" had me still unsure....

 

It basically whips right out, so you can stick your receiver in/out any time you want. When there's no receiver installed, no problem. Just whip it back in again, and it keeps things nice, clean and dry until next time. It's got a convenient ring that lets it hang from your shaft, keeping the plug close by for easy access
