Talked to Keith at @dirtydeeds today. He stated 1-6 months “to be on the safe side” he will have a 4-1 header available. His header was originally an improvised version of a pacesetter. His revision went on to JBA and more improvements were made. As far as I understand JBA is now making the header for Deeds but not selling them themselves. As far as 4-1 vs. Tri-y, Keith’s opinion is 4-1 is better all around way to go.
Asked him about LC100 to 1st gen tundra fitment, he seems pretty confident it won’t. Just to make things a little more interesting here dudes!

I guess it comes down to what camp we’re in. Personally I’d benefit more from a Tri-y that improves bottom end and minimal top end gains. If a 4-1 has minimal bottom end and mostly top end gains it doesn’t do much for me.

The quote of 985 AUD excludes the cats; I want to run my own cats, and the bolt up position is different for my weird custom exhaust anyways, so I'm just buying the headers off of them.

Man, this is getting confusing lol. The other forum with the fab buddy, these Aussie headers that supposedly fit LHD 2UZFE platforms, and now the JBA headers are back. I recall from talking to Keith that those headers are $1500 plus shipping, hence why I've been looking for other options since then. If they come back to their original price of $600-800 I'd be into it, but for me $1500 is a really hard sell. I could buy an entire Honda Civic in decent condition for that much. The 4-1 design is a bit better overall I think but not an extra ~$1k better imo...that is, all else being equal.

I’m also out at $1500 especially if they don’t come with a considerable bottom end increase.

Dirt Deeds injectors, Addco rear sway, AEM dry flow air filter, last ever set of Stan's Try-Y headers, Borla full custom exhaust, front level, wheel spacers, and lots of electronics.
I spent about $1,400 for ceramic coated tri-ys in October 2021. And another $1,200 for full custom exhaust. Just to put it in perspective.

But how much power and torque did that sweet exhaust give ya? I’d love some tri-y’s!

That’s about how much I estimate a custom exhaust will end up costing me. I’m only considering doing this now because, the tri-y’s are not being made anymore and this might be my last chance to get a set. Truth be told, if I put the exhaust in a list of priority jobs to do in my truck, it would probably be at the bottom.

I installed JBAs longtube headers and full exhaust on my truck (no cats or resonators)
IMHO do not do this just for power increases. It's not there

I could agree that there won’t likely be any major power increase

I forgot that I sent out a bunch of emails to a bunch of Australian companies when I made this thread. Another company I talked to is called Advance Headers, who claim that their land cruiser headers fit LHD version as well. I need to follow up and ask if it fits Sequoia/Tundra vehicles, as well as get a quote, but this is potentially another option in the long run...I still think Rhino might be a better bet but I'd figure I'd add all options I see, just in case.

Edit: $1000 AUD shipped, includes all gaskets, bolts, etc etc etc

I got an email on the 4th asking for information about my truck, in order to verify fitment and then they send me an update on the 6th. I followed up with them this morning, still waiting to hear back.

Ok. This is good. They want to give us a clear definitive answer, seems like they are looking further into it which is great.

With no dyno before and after it's hard to say for sure. I had a whole bunch of comparisons and words typed up. But I decided to delete them and just say.
    No
I think if you want THESE trucks to go faster for cheap. You need gearing. If you want these trucks to go faster by HP. You need boost.
Or. Like I say in my below thread. Be happy with the truck, spend that money on fuel (because we all know they're thirsty) and just drive it.

Certainly not looking to “go fast” or “faster” I think it’s kinda clear this thread hasn’t been geared towards chasing HP and going fast. Personally my manifolds could use a replacement and why not throw a header package on there that gives me a few points in the TQ column.

+1 for this mentality. If I wanted a faster truck I'd buy a 2nd gen. But if I'm gonna drop a few hundred to a thousand bucks fixing an issue, it's worth it to spend another couple hundred to do something cool that will increase power and mpgs a little bit.

btw, anyone who has put on long tubes or generally a different exhaust, have you noticed any fuel economy gain? I've read online that people get +1 or so from exhaust mods.

Im doing a complete restoration/makeover on my truck. I want it to sound good, but if there is the slightest chance of gaining even a fraction of performance, I’ll take low end.

Btw still waiting to hear back from Rhino.

Absolutely man, my answer wasn't geared towards you. Just answering a question.

That's the same reason I did it. Holes in my muffler and a ticking from my manifold. Figured If I'm gonna take manifolds off for new gaskets, may as well do headers, and replace the whole exhaust system. And also timing chain kit at the same time. And dirty deeds injectors, and plugs, and air filter.

This isn’t true. If a tri had better low end torque, that’s how I’d build them. I’ve tested both on a 4.7… extensively.

I’ve Dyno tested and track tested multiple tundras. There’s 30hp and 30tq to the rear wheels over stock with a dual 2.5” exhaust behind long tubes.

More in a vvti model. Haven’t ran the ‘after’ yet but it’s significantly more power with vvti.

    Hey guys,

On the 6th I reached out to Rhino Exhaust for an update on their headers fitting my 2001 Tundra and I never received a reply. Personally I lost confidence in them and will be moving on.

Have you done any testing on non VVT-i Tundras and Do you offer long tubes for them?
