Yes another TRD grill swap question

I've hunted through the forum, I've checked the links, I'm still hopeless. At this point, I don't care if its OEM. I'm just looking to update the "face" to a TRD style grill with a paint matched surround. I can have it painted locally, but would rather just cut a check and it appear on my doorstep in a week or so. I've attached a snippet of what the goal is.

So you need the part number for that older style grille and the hood bulge in MGM color code?

 

Ordered the color matched surround, hood bulge, and pre 18 pro grill from Sparks. Showed up in less than a week (I think.. it was a couple yrs ago)

That's the newer style. He doesn't have TSS on his but he could just use an Amazon knockoff garnish to cover the hole if he likes this style better. I just put the older style on my 2020.

 

What would be needed for the front sensor? I have a 2018 with the front TSS sensor I believe and looking to do the same, I found a grill send up on spark's but doesn't seem to have the front sensor location. Sorry I'm very new to the tundras, first time tundra owner.

Isnt there a front sensor cover and hole insert that needs to be there? Again this is all new to me for the tundra

There is a newer style Pro grille (black truck) listed for the 18-21. This grill has the sensor mounted to the front of the grill with a cover (known as a garnish) over it. Which grille are you looking at before we get into the additional info needed?

This is what I foun don Sparks but its for a 14-17 not my 18, but sounds like I can use it but need the AJT bracket. I like the grill on the red truck you posted, not a fan of the 18-21 pro grill

 

That grille will fit yours. You just need the AJT bracket. I'll send you a PM. That red truck is mine.

 

I have been looking for just the grille itself. I search TRD Pro Grille and I get Platinum grilles instead. What did you search? Thanks!

 

I don't think the Pro grill comes in VooDoo Blue. Which style are you looking for? The bulge comes in that color but not the Pro grille.

 

I just want to replace the insert if possible. Is it possible to remove the insert from one of these parts and install it on my tundra?

 

I have your info. The older style like mine doesn't come in VooDoo. The new style does, but it will also require the sensor garnish which is another $340 added to the cost.

You can but you have to be very careful with the clips. Which style insert are you wanting?

They are both Pro. There are 2 styles. The one on the black truck will require the additional garnish that is $340. The one on the red truck requires a relocation kit which is $50.

Ok the black on is the new style. That silver looking printed cover in the bottom center is the garnish. Your sensor will mount in that spot and then that garnish covers it. You can get an aftermarket garnish cheap but most people have issues with them not working and giving sensor errors. The Toyota garnish is $340. My grill has a different kit being the grill that mounts to the radiator support.

I just realized something. You won't have to remove your insert. The inserts aren't sold separately so you would order this one and the garnish.
