I have a 1794 4wd hybrid with TRD off road and the best I've gotten is 18.9 mpg. Went to an appointment last week and intentionally left early. Drove a little over an hour at 61-62mph and that's when I finally hit 18.9mpg. Truck is still completely stock. I'm about to put some 34 inch tires so I'm sure I'll be down in the 16's.

Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.
    Hybrid?

I've averaged 17.7 over 6200 miles, about 700 of which was towing a 6900lb trailer. The biggest hit on mileage is not temperature or winter fuel in my experience is wind. Headwind or crosswind doesn't seem to matter, both put a 15% or so hit on fuel economy.

just took a trip to bismarck.

on the 2018 we get about 15 mpg on 1 tank and we get to about 1/4 tank round trip.

here is the same trip in the 2023 and we were still above 1/2 a tank before fill up.

the dash showed 17.9 mpg for the tank, my tracker shows 18.5 mpg

What kind of tracker is that? Looks like a really good App.

Up here in the Great White North of Canada, with all the idling I do to get the truck warmed up, I am sitting at 14 mpg, which I am not overly happy with. In the summer however, I was getting around 19-20 so that I can work with.

I'm sitting at 26,000 km's on the truck now and it should be quite well broken in so maybe this current summer/winter fuel economy is what I will have to live with.

Remember your Litre is based on imperial MPG...not American MPG. So Calculate with Imperial if in Canada

Sorry yea you are right on that, so I am at almost 18 mpg in the winter and close to 24 in the summer, so not that bad then.

you're lucky you are getting 14 remote starting/idling during the winter.

i think the wife hit 5 mpg one tank when it stayed like -20F for 2-3 weeks once in the 18 tundra.

edit : 4.5 mpg on 13-feb-2021, 47 miles over 6 days and filled up 10.4 gals

My 2023 SR 2wd Tundra gets about 17-18 mpg in town and 21ish on the highway. If I drive 55mph on flat ground it’ll get the 24 it’s supposed to, it is winter here so may be worse, I reset the mpg once warmed up to eliminate fuel wasted idling for consistency. My older Tacoma always met or beat the epa always unless going up a hill lol. I do have the SR5 alloy wheels that are slightly taller and probably lower my mpg reading by .5mpg due to the tire diameter (245/75r18 vs 265/70r18). Being the “base” truck there is no eco or other special modes. Just all 10 gears or using Sport mode to lock out higher gears.

Just FYI, here is the tire size calculator for the dif. I have been considering an SR, but want some SR5 take offs to powder coat. Tires are nearly identical. Only 2 revolutions more per mile. How do ya like your SR?

The 2023 SR I like overall minus the driver wind noise and a few interior rattles and loose fitting fabric seats. But overall a solid rig, fit and finish a notch below the last gen, but that’s true across all trim levels.

How's the drivers seat? It's my only worry currently with the SR. I don't anticipate issues with myself being able to see over the dash at 5'9", but my wife may struggle at 5'3"

Seats non adjustable for height. May be a little too low for a shorter driver to see over the dash.

Update: truck has 416 miles now, at 289 miles, added 14 gal of 91 octane, reset and 20.4 mpg ion mixed driving. With a little more break-in and premium gas 22 should be attainable.

Stock truck drove 2k miles home got 16 mpg in eco mode with some mild aggressive driving at times. After install of 37'' tires I don't get above 12.5. I knew I was going to lose MPG with the increase in tire size, this isn't really a daily driver more of a toy so that is fine. Still I expected more with the 18/22 claims. Not sure what anyone else that has 37's on is getting.

Just completed a ~1,500 road trip to relocate my beautiful solar octane TRD Pro from South Carolina to Colorado averaging 12.7MPG. Eco mode using adaptive cruise control 95% of the trip and odometer is at 6,500 miles. Yokohama Geolander MT 35x12.5x18 look bad AF but are not doing me any favors in the fuel economy department. Choose your rubber wisely.

Those are some heavy AF tires with aggro tread- MPG killers for sure, but damn do they look good

I would suggest trying Normal mode and see how your economy does. I am not a fan of the Eco setting

I've been stuck on 18.9 for several weeks now. Yesterday on the way home, I finally hit 19.0 mpg. Truck is still completely stock (hybrid 4wd). Putting 34inch tires on monday so I'm sure it'll dip down a bit.

Also appears (just skimming) that they take the scientific results and multiply by a factor to account for some seemingly untestable conditions? Which raises or lowers the final numbers. While the truck is capable of some mpg, it’s the driver and the driving choices and conditions that ultimately determine the MPG’s. Trucks don’t “get” 18 mpg. Drivers “get” what the truck is capable of with all the mods and crap they add and the driving style they employ. Less weight. Less speed. Softer inputs. More MPG’s. And remember, your brakes are how you turn money into heat instead of MPG’s. The less you need your brakes, the more of your fuel you’re using to actually move you forward.

It just cracks me up... all these lifted Tundras and other p/u's running knobby 34s, 35s, or even 37s on the highway, all poked out, getting close to single digit mpg for what? A "cool" look for stylized photos to post up to this forum, Facebook or whatever? LOL.

There are for sure a lot of poser doing it for the gam, but a lot of us need these types of set ups for the places we go and the things we like to do.
