That would be fun - I'd be down. In Edmonds.

I'm in Issaquah. I actually don't even have my truck yet! I pick it up next week. But I know I will want to tinker on things and get it lifted, do some mods (I did with my Tacoma) - I get enjoyment out of that stuff. With this new Tundra, I know I will not be doing much off-roading in it. So my lift will be more for the look, which is why I am considering something more like a leveling kit than the full lift. But I still go back and forth and seeing one of these in person might help sway me one way or the other.

I am sure you are reading up on the forum, but it seems like the leveling kit isn't a positive impact to the ride quality.

Which trim are you going to get?

1794. I'm not planning a spacer lift...I would do a strut replacement, just something more around the 2". So I think this would be better. But what is a bit hard to find is how aftermarket struts (Eg Rough Country N3 2" struts) compare to the stock ride.

The other consideration is the warranty. I know it would be only 1 year with the TRD lift, but in the case of the CV leak problems that some people see, etc., it would be nice to have (although I am disappointed I couldn't get the full 3 year warranty).

Do you have a 1794 on order? Unless you are paying 100% cash (in which case it wouldn't matter), you could just add the TRD lift as a dealer installed accessory at purchase and get the full 3 year warranty and roll it into your financing. That said rates have really gone up, so not sure what that would do to your payment.

Yeah considered that. I am paying cash for the truck. But the other issue is I am buying out of state so as not to pay any of the ridiculous markups around here, and the dealer said they can't get the parts right now (I didn't press this...I think they probably can). So that is why I purchased the kit separately.

This is why I'd like to see one in person. I don't want to go too big and some of the pictures make it look maybe a bit too big for my liking. But if the reality is 2" vs 2.6" (I think TRD is 2.6"...but I think most people see more than that?) maybe i'm overthinking it. Cost is the other factor...the rough country thing is much cheaper...but my experience says you get what you pay for. So :notsure:

I figure I would check with them after the lift and see if that's something they'd be willing to do. If you have any recs on other dealers that might be worthwhile, I'm open to suggestions.

I haven't done the mustache yet, which I figure I could just order all the parts from Sparks and take them somewhere. Doing the mods is not my expertise and I honestly was sweating bullets just doing the door handle swaps LOL. None of that stuff went as easy for me as it did in those damn Youtube videos. That said, I did learn a neat trick on how to remove panel clips without breaking them, only after having busted a few on the front door handle swap lol.

I've been in Seattle for a year (moved from Denver) and don't have a lot of experience with the dealerships here outside of trying to find a truck, which I ended up going to Ohio to get.

    @R2theD2 @cruiserhead

I just spoke to Rodland and they hosed my fog lights. I reiterated that I knew one other person that had it installed at their shop and were able to keep the lights but they said they still had to yank them. No waiver, nothing. Bummer.

They sent pics and it looks like it should be wrapped up today.

North East Ohio, they're quoting 20 hours of labor.

Are they giving you the fog lights back and can you just reinstall them later?

Before and after pic on the OEM lift installed yesterday w/ Maxxis RAZR 285/65R20 tires. The pic doesn't do it justice. Looks WAY better in person.

I flipped the bottom pic horizontally (thus the backwards emblems) for a better comparison.

    Tire specs:
    LT285/65R20 127/124S E RBL - 34.7D 11.60W; 65.33 lbs

    Two things of note:
I am getting a bit of rub on the sway bar when fully engaging the steering.
The skid that I have is not the TRD skid. Talking to the mechanic he said it came with the smaller skid. Not sure it’s worth complaining about, and the window sticker and build sheet list "skid" as part of the TRD Off Road package. Does not specifically state "TRD Skid" so not sure whether they changed it to the smaller skid or if they shipped it with the wrong skid (or the service guys swapped it). Will prob follow up with the sales guy I’ve got a pretty good relationship with to see what he says.

If anyone finds a spacer kit to drop the TRD skidplate beneath the dropped swaybar on the TRD lift, please post it. I just don't have the time to manufacture something or piece it together from generic spacers & bolts, and I'm sure someone (hopefully Toyota) will eventually put a spacer kit on the market. I'm going to mount mine above the sway bar for now, but would prefer to have it protected.

Added 35x12.50R20 KO2’s on 20x9 +18 Mayhem Wheels. Pinned back the inner liner and have zero rubbing issues. So far so good, love the TRD lift and ability to run 35’s without issue.

Yes, I have them in a box and I'll reinstall them when I get ready to do the grill swap and mustache delete.

The lift is noticeable, even with the stock TRD wheels, just looks a little funny with the smaller tires!

They have a tire special for the month of March so I plan on getting new wheels/shoes hopefully in the next week or so.

Yeah when I spoke to Luke he said they had to pull the lights (he wasn’t entertaining waivers at the time).

…and yes stock wheels/tires with lift does make it looks like Tundy skipped leg day at the gym :D

Your spacers look like sockets or at least similar and since the 10mm socket is always missing - as the story goes, I was just making a funny reference... That's all.

    Ahh. I’m with you now.

I would never use something as precious as a 10mm socket for a spacer. I’d rather use a gold ring. It’s much less valuable.

I am surprised they wouldn’t work with you on the lights…they gave me no hassle about keeping them. My understanding is you can just re-install them though.

post some pics of your lift! Agree tires are needed for this lift.

I stopped by the dealer today to personally ask about the fog lights. They told me they have to remove them and I can re-install them when I get home. I saw a video of someone changing the foglights and it looked real simple to remove the front piece on the bumper. So that's the boat I'm in. Guess I'm gonna order the kit and reinstall the lights after the lift is on.

Is that +18 offset on those Methods? I just got the TRD lift installed and have the 705s 18" +18 offset on order and looking to go 35x12.5 with the Toyo AT3s myself without having to do a spacer kit. It looks like those clear nicely!

EDIT: I just saw your earlier post with the offset. Your ride looks awesome, I can't wait to get some new shoes on mine soon.
