OOF!!! I am a sucker for vettes. That thing looked sweet! My dream is to have a C6 ZR1 but i just cant bring myself to part with this camaro. It was the first thing i worked really hard to buy out of highschool. Too many good memories in it. I'd just buy a vette too but my wife would kill me for having 4 cars of my own lol.

    That chop

Touching base on the long crank.. mine's been doing it since I got it back up until the 9th tune revision from Prospeed. I uploaded said tune a few days ago and it doesn't seem to do it anymore. Waiting on snow and rain to clear to do some final data logging. :burnrubber:

The extended crank behavior can be tuned out? That's something I'd like to get taken care of on mine as well.

I can't answer that but it long cranked every time on revision 8 unless it was within ~15 mins of turning it off and then turning it on again. I'm gonna go out this morning and start it "manually" as I usually remote start to let it warm up.

Isn’t your fuel system pretty wild? I know aftermarket FPRs don’t hold fuel pressure at shutdown like the OEM ones do which is part of the issue with the bigger fuel systems. Do you have the Prospeed jumper for the fuel pump that makes it run at key on to prime? I’m not sure if the changes made to my tune for the extended crank would apply to your issue or not.

Yeah, I replaced everything, and rewired it as well. I thought the extended crank was due to replacing the stock pump and FPR as there was a check valve keeping the rails pressurized, which was why I was surprised when people said a tune fixed their issues. PS said the jumper wasn't needed for 18+, but I fixed my issue with my fuel pump wiring relay triggering from the same tap as the IC pump so it starts pumping before cranking.

Cool, thanks! I'm actually leaning towards that direction, mostly for the TRD branding ha. But no, haven't figured it out yet. I'll circle back to it this weekend after the truck is driving again.

I've loaded the startup tune from OTT, and will be working with them later this afternoon on further fine tuning

Yeah makes sense. A tune fixed mine but I’m still using a pretty much OE style drop in fuel pump and an OE style FPR so the fuel pressure leak down wasn’t the source of my problem.

So with my scnenario, my truck started perfect for over 1 year in all seasons with the stock injectors (Harrop Stage 1 so the fuel pump was replaced with DW340 and the Harrop supplied fuel pressure regulator replaced the OEM one). 2 days after installing the DW 650s is when my cranking issues started.

Yesterday was over 60 degrees here (not sure if ambient temp has anything to do with it) and my starts were bad. Once I bumped key to start, the truck tried cranking for about 5 seconds and then stopped. With my truck, you only need to bump key to start, you don't need to hold the key in start position. I don't know if all year Tundras operate like that. I then attempted the second try and it started but almost took the whole 5 seconds to turn over. Today is much colder than yesterday and the starts are much better, but definitely not normal.

Sorry just saw your question. Nah, Sniv updated the tune and the AFRS at WOT and idle seem spot on for the larger injectors. This has to be something more complicated or deeper in HPT options to fix. I am optimistic as Silver17 said his starting issue was fixed with tuning. I am going to dig into HPT and see what I can find, if anything.

That’s exactly how everything went for me too. Mine had the most trouble starting at mild temps like around 50 degrees ambient. Initial cold start was ok, hot start was ok, but starting after the truck was running previously but was sitting cooling down for 30 minutes was a real struggle and frankly embarrassing in public. I think the combo of the change of the injectors and the Harrop FPR running lower pressure at idle (33psi and higher at full boost 50psi) combined to cause the warm start issue. I think it was lean at startup possibly? Blipping the throttle helped it start.

It fired right up this morning, no extended crank. I have the Aeromotive FPR and similar setup to you I believe. I'm gonna venture out to say it was fixed via tuning as it did it every time up until this last revision.

Edit: It's 22 degrees outside if that matters

I thought I was alone thinking the Hellcat doesn't feel fast when driving it. I made numberous 0-120 runs in my cousins automatic Redeye and the power delivery was impressive but didn't feel like 700 hp to me. I've driven 400 hp cars that "felt" faster. Hellcat does do mean burnouts once I figured the line lock feature, and then proceeded to teach it to my cousin.

Thinking weight plays a role as those things are boat anchors. Kinda feel the same way about the truck and the Fox suspension. Doing 4wd launches is fun and seeing the front end lift from the suspension travel feels like a wheelie lol. Seems the weight and suspension take away the g force feeling imo

I took all the sway bars off my JK and even though that thing is gutless, it does the same thing. Makes corners fun too!

XAT rails came in and they are beautiful! Fittings were loose, so I'm going to remove and reinstall and check torque on the fasteners as well. I couldn't get a good shot of the inside, but it's so smooth it doesn't look like there are any holes to feed down to the injectors, but they are there and inlet is large as well.

Fuel rail inner diameter is 3/4", but fittings reduce the diameter.

    Those are pretty!

Well, the truck fired right up, no leaks or Christmas lights on dash either! Logging while it warms up to temp now, then some pedal logging. He said first startup log looked pretty good, fuel was only about 5% off

You guys are tempting me to do more with my setup...what is the consensus of needed items if I were to upgrade the pulley as well?

    Current Setup:
    • Stock Magnuson
    • Green Injectors
    • Factory Flex Fuel Pump
I'm thinking if I did the pulley I need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, possibly swap plugs? and then modify the current HPTune? Does that sound about right? Truck should finally be paid off in a couple months so some extra funds are around the corner.

@AZTundra , I have one piece of this upgraded puzzle now...I have the same setup minus the Flex Fuel bits...I need 750cc injectors, new belt, probably a updated/graded heat exchanger (IC), new 450l in-tank pump and a tune...so only roughly $2k more of bits...
