Finished the cig swap on both ports--replaced with dual USB and PD quick charger. These particular chargers have sensors that allow me to turn on/off the charger. In addition, I added two more USB quick chargers in the slots above giving me a total of 8 USB ports + 2 PD ports. No splicing or tapping into OEM wires. I created harnesses for the chargers so they're all plug & play.

Now to add two more dual chargers on the center console for passengers making for 12 USB ports + 2 PD ports. Sounds like overkill but at least no one has to worry about not having enough ports to charge their devices.

I accidentally shorted the wires when installing my USB outlet and now none of the 12v ports work. I checked/replaced the cigarette and power fuses under the dash and in the engine compartment. Any other suggestions?

similar problem. all of a sudden my cigarette lighters stopped working. in my case wasn't doing anything at all with wiring. my 2005 full size crew tundra has 4 of them. 1 front driver, 2 front passenger, 1 rear seat. and none of them work. i checked every fuse by driver dash labeled power outlet or cig, and they are all good. fuse number 8 (the only one named cig) has my dash cam piggy backed on the fuse, and the dash cam works fine. i removed the dash cam wiring just in case that made a difference, but no. any ideas?

Slightly OT but my 2010 Grade DC has two front 12V ports. One has been dead since I bought it (I haven't looked into why) the other is hot all the time and pulls out of the dash with the accessory ( )...

Is it factory to have two up front or did PO add one (sorta).

I use this (picture att.) but had planned to use an empty filler block but the Amazoo USB/digital VM didn't fit (Don't buy this).

This 12V cigarette to dual USB volt/amp meter does work well. Screenshot_20230302-154822_Chrome.jpg

Last little bit on accessories. The rectangular filler plugs are approximately the size shown. Although I wish I'd measured it before I shoved it in there.

Claim is, this fog light switch fits Toyota and it does. Now to finish project when it warms up!

Anyone know what this connector is?
It was lurking behind the block panel I put the switch in.

You sure you have them wired properly? Meaning negative/ground to negative/ground and not to positive? I shorted both front 12v outlets and it was the fuse, but the fuse I replaced I recall it wasn't your typical cig/12v outlet fuse. It was a different fuse...can't remember off the top of my head.

Feel stupid on this one, but it was a multitude of problems. Keep in mind this is a Double Cab 2005 1st gen Tundra (fuses are different for different versions).

First thing I did was clean all 4 cigarette lighters using cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Those things were filthy. Then I double checked every fuse to see if it was blown.

Ended up that the cigarette lighter in front of the driver uses fuse number 8. The actual cigarette lighter part was loose and didn't have a good contact. Also the dash cam was piggy backed on this fuse cheaply, and I think both of these issues were causing intermittent problems. Fixed this. This is an ACC (only when car is on) fuse.

The other 3 cigarette lighters (2 on passenger front, and 1 for rear seat) used fuse 22. That fuse was blown. These are "always on".

I found fuse 4 also blown (labeled power outlet), replaced this but no idea what it is for.

Hope this helps. I used a lead test light to confirm there was power for all these at the fuse box. Then replaced fuses and cleaned the cigarette lighters.

That's what I was eluding to. Check fuses, all if necessary. Glad you got it fixed.
