I got out of the truck and had my wife turn the wheels. I could see the play in both sides and see them shift when switching directions.

 

Hey what's up, yall! I just lucked out and got a great 2000 Tundra with 94k actual miles. All origional drive train. Only downer is that it is 2WD. What you guy's thought. I'm thinking of selling it for about $12.5k, and have gotten interest on it. But a part of me wants to just keep it. But being 2WD, im nor sure if it's worth being kept.
It's a beaut, but money is good. What should I do?

 

Sometimes I get the clunk just jumping into the truck. And I aim a big boy either. Only 175

 

Having no idea where you live but with you saying it’s only 2WD I assume you deal with snow or want to go off-road with it. If you can make money and sell it I would. But then you’re stuck looking for another truck and without transportation for the time being

 

Well you didn't say what part of the country you're in and didn't post pics, so I can't figure what we'd weigh in on.

 

sorry yall, I'm located in Michigan so I definately get los of snow. But I do plan on moving to Texas by next year.

 

I've also got a Camry, so I wouldn't be too SOL without the truck. Just kind of one of those things I wonder if ill regret it once it is gone

 

See if you can last 2 weeks without driving it. If you can, sell it. If not, enjoy it.

If the truck is from Michigan like you, the frame is probably shot, unless the previous owner(s) were treating the frame yearly or never driving in the snow.

94k means nothing. There are a plethora of problems you find in these trucks when they've got low mileage. Ask me how I know. My truck has 74k miles.

Not to sound all anti-standard-measurements or anything, but I for one would really appreciate it if we could get with the other 94% of the globe that uses metric and quit using the bullshit "imperial" standard of measurement the British shoved down everyone's throat.

 

Any of y’all know how to disable the vsc at the brake booster on the 1st gen sequoia’s?

I can find post about it but nobody documents what to actual unplug.

My oldest (he’ll be 3 in April) ask his momma the other day where her big car went. She explains that we sold it and got a different car. He pauses for a minute and then tells her “we’ve gotta take the dodge and go get it back .

I’d have to get in one stupid cheap but I can’t rule out I’d buy another one

When my oldest was that age, he had issues with speech/expression, now he won’t be quite. His lil bro who’s that age is pretty good and comical. He’s named my blow torches……….
One is torchy, hahahah and the other is hottie.

 

The torch thing is amazing, and that’s awesome he noticed them and has an interest. My youngest (18 months between the 2) is the quiet sneaky one. Dude is into everything.

 

Mine both love and steal my tools, but the youngest is the most interested and always wants to be with me while I’m outside working on stuff. Hopefully soon he can start passing me wrenches

Both of mine are all about anything with a motor. I’ll guess they’re doomed to be vehicle poor like the rest of us

my oldest is all the time “fixing my dodge” he can walk up under the flatbed and pretend to wrench on it

Go LX470, surely there's gotta be a number of 'em up that way from rich people who move to NW GA to be closer to the lakes! I'd totally do it if I could find one in the $12k-14k range with all the right options and paperwork.

Yeah, you gotta be careful. I once said the phrase "fart nugget" around mine at ~3yo and 6yo, respectively. They're 10 and 12 now, and that phrase hasn't left their mouths yet. I SAID IT ONCE. It was a totally made-up word. Somehow "FART" has become part of their vocab, I swear it comes out of their mouth every couple dozen words. It's nuts! Oh man, and don't get me started on "NUTS". Ugh...

I FINALLY GOT MY YOUNGEST TO GET INVOLVED! @daveeasa I'm tagging you, THERE IS HOPE!! He insisted on hanging out with me while I changed fluids in the diffs and tc. He handed me wrenches. He handed me bottles. He even offered to pump fluid in! It was pretty cool. The oldest is more interested in things that involve heat, glue guns, soldering irons, she wants to craft stuff. But I think there may be hope yet!

I sure as hell couldn't get them to help with the dryer yesterday, though. I changed the snapped belt only to find the rear pivot for the ball/socket config on the drum had worked its way loose on one side, which is what caused it to throw the belt. Cyclically tightened it up across the two fasteners, re-greased with high-temp grease, reinstalled the belt, and buttoned it up only to realize I really need to swap out the door hinge, and I need to re-do the felt glides on the doors for drum supports. Ugh.
