decided to document my VIPER CUT lower front bumper end caps to clear my 37” tires.
During my research only found at best measurements to cut the bumper end caps. nothing really about the brackets, lower plastic inner fender, mounting points. Hope this helps the next DIY VIPER CUT mods.
cut measurements: 2” on inner vertical cut, 1” on lower fog lamp, 6.25” on inner bend and 5.5” on outer edge bend, inner painter tape as stencil for curve. Used flat Dremel to cut plastic end cap. then sanded for easier instal of fender trim later. Did not take pics as other threads have these. I’m more focused on the other info for the DIY will need.
cut the lower fog lamp bracket and lower metal mounting bracket with edge grinder, after looking from front, ended up cutting more to clean up view from lower front. drilled a hole on inner fog bracket to use a mounting point for zip tie later. sanded and painted.
Lower front inner plastic fender, made cuts at bottom bend then drilled a hole on bottom inner flap for zip tie point. after test fit ended up cutting more again for cleaner front lower view. removed the outer fender mounting bracket clip to cut off center section then test fit bracket on cut fender cap. drilled hole on middle and screws together. sanded and washed
mounting liner used factory (2) 10mm bolt on top outside mounting, push pin on frame just under coil revisor, (3) zip tie on fog lamp with previous hole drilled. NOTE: zip tie all the way forward as this clears the tires at full lock. 6 anchor points and liner doesn’t move. keeps factory look. NO HEATING, just push forward and secure. keeps fog lamp housing covered. To complete the factory look added fender trim.
+6” straight clearance, and +5” at full lock. Note: previously did a .75” bumper spacer and BMC to clear my 35” tires….Now 37” should be no problem….except maybe gas mileage…hehe

thanks first off want to give credit to “DEANER713” for giving us the cut measurements. i just wanted to give my experience and how to for those that are looking for a clean factory look with out the melting/bending/hacked up/removing things. I was researching for about 2 months most of which was Tacoma viper cuts.
best i can say is measure 3x before you cut, and take your time. my project took me 2days as my first cuts were not high enough and did not like the view from the front. so next day measured, cut, drilled, re-fabricated parts from the cut pcs ie; end bracket mount clip to fit the shorter size, trimming the inner plastic mounding to follow the cut line and still keep it looking factory like.
I hope this gives others ideas on how to tackle this project for better bigger tire clearance.

What material did you use to cover the corners after you cut it? Do you have a link to it?

after driving my OCD kicked in and added (2) more zip tie point to lower plastic liner.
drilled holes for zip tie to pass through and secured to metal fog lamp bracket, tightened only enough to prevent liner from flexing during driving and still keeping factory shape. now have (3) factory mounting points and (3) zip tie points for stability…happy with my Viper Cut DIY project. next week installing Icon UPA and Falken Wildpeaks AT3W 37”/12.5”/20”

Looks great! 37" tires on the Tundra do not look like 37" tires on a Jeep.... but they are a huge tire.
Are you going to regear it? If so, what ratio would you run for 37's?
I have 5.13 gears in my Jeep but have no idea what would be used for the Tundra.

@dirtydeeds can guide your hand on this. You'll want to go 5.29s on the Tundra for anything bigger than 35s.

Can you post some “normal” pics from chest height, looking at the truck from a little ways away? What I’ve found is that down low, these cuts usually look pretty good. But from eye level, they look kinda weird. Especially from the side where you can see into the area behind the bumper.

my OCD made sure that all angles were correct, tried to keep it looking factory as possible, some people had no idea i had a viper cut due to the view from inside the fender well still looked factory, painted the bumper bar black, even looking at eye level of cuts were all clean. Even the other Tundra owners thought i bought these bumpers that way

thanks i’ve looked at all viper cuts and no one explained how to do a clean inner fender well DIY. went and did a total of 3 cuts till my OCD was satisfied. like a Toyota staff said he thought i bought it that way until i told him it’s DIY.

Is that really just a 0.75" bumper spacer? Looks like a lot more. Also, is that what's causing the bumper to look like it's sagging in the middle and higher at the edges?
