Interested too, @Cthulhu just made me a little nervous. I do too much Los Angeles freeway driving to worry about my truck’s handling on the freeway. I don’t have stock shocks, so they do a lot of work, but I need peace of mind too.

Southbound on N. Padre out of CC; until we haven't seen people for at least a mile. Hopefully the fact that it's February and not high season will make the 'until we haven't seen people for at least a mile' possible. We're old guys, so we get a VRBO when we go 'glamping', so it's not a camping on the beach situation; and when we hit the beach will depend a little on how much whisky isn't left in the bottle from the night before; but it'll be the weekend of the 24th. If you're out there and see a big brown Shiny TuRD, flag us down.

Thankfully (or unfortunately for @Azblue) I made it without any issues. Slightly more body roll going through high speed curves and needed a little more steering input with a tiny bit looser feel if that makes sense. Essentially feels like driving with the a slightly softer suspension IMO which I’m good with.

    Yesterday, I did this:
    upload_2023-2-10_21-33-47.jpg

Today, I put it all back together, with a few tweaks and prepping for a few more…
Reinstalled the ECU and instrument cluster for my parking sonar (long story)
    Rago dash plate installed
Added a on/off switch for my power mirror auto-fold
Removed every single t-tap that had ever been installed and replaced with break-out harnesses and in a few cases new fuse-taps with multi-line distribution for future tapping
Added MESO extended fuse box cover
Prepped for manual reverse light over-ride (turn on all the reverse lights with a switch in addition to standard function)
    Prepped for VSC auto-off setup

    No.
I’ve exhausted pretty much every option there short of cutting open the switch and trying to hack something inside of it.

The control switch from a European “Auris” (their corolla) has it’s own micro-processor built into the switch (it is a 28-pin connector) - it isn’t made to handle the sort of power draw that the bigger mirrors need. I tried - sourced one, wired it up, bench tested the function, then installed it and nada - it will trip itself before it actually fully moves the mirror in any way. Even trying to swap guts and other parts won’t work - they are completely and utterly different inside and even the buttons and parts aren’t compatible.
The KJTO option (if/when they have it) uses this particular switch. And it won’t work in a Platinum/1794 at all because they use their own ECU in each door to actually control the mirrors (part of the memory function).

I thought I had found one that would work from a Japanese Prado, but it ended up being just enough the wrong shape and size that it couldn’t be made to fit.

So, unless someone starts making on in the aftermarket market, I do not see any options for it.

I’ve been through that thread many times too - having green illumination would drive me nuts and I wanted to have upper illumination too. I may revisit it again some day…or not. I really don’t fuck with my mirror switch very often, especially having the auto-fold set up.

    Too many mods to come

I ordered some that were a little thicker almost like a gel sticker. But like mentioned only blacked the front out and left the sides silver which to me looks fine

Not happy with my current set-up so going to put the stock tail pipe back on. I got this for free on FB. It's from a 4.6L but I believe it will work. I just hit it with the wire wheel and sprayed with Rust-Oleum bbq paint.

The OE tail has a tip, which now looks like crap, and the Helmholtz resonator which has been nothing but a PITA

It keeps resting on the spare tire no matter how tight I get the clamp. This then turns the tip upward and it rests on the rear bumper. Heat + paint/rubber is not good. Its burned a nice mark in the tire already. Since the DD pipes are not 'keyed', the tail pipe is free to rotate

Couple of tack welds would solve that twisting problem I would think. Or maybe a hanger on the resonator to support it?

I had a galaxy S9 with Zero charging issues and when I went to a S21 ultra I was getting the charge-no charge-charge error too till I (by accident) found if i put this "pad " in the console it charges just fine now

    Just a FYI ( @1UP )

maybe a photo of the clamp tightened down as well. I thought mine was snugged, but an impact driver got another almost 1/2” of threads tightened down.

I ran without my front sway bar for a couple years and it was fine. Just a little more leaning on turns. Once I installed the supercharger, high speeds on highway (85+) and “very accelerated” runs on the highway made the truck sway side to side (hard to describe but like a quick rocking left to right). Not a safe feeling and I ended up putting the front sway bar back on. It fixed the high speed swaying.

Now I have some kind of clunk that is definitely coming from sway bar reinstallation. I’ve been under the truck to tighten, loosen, whatever and can’t get it to go away.

Well...all the "I paid it off" posts inspired me. I chatted with the wife and she agreed we should go ahead and do it, so today she went down to the bank and...PAID IT OFF.
