Ahh. Just curious. People always tell me people die when I do stuff like that.. I thought maybe I might be a cereal killer but it turns out I’d prolly be classified as a mass murderer instead… Or maybe that’s PETA..

(Responding to, … “Of course, you are looking at downtime for your truck.”)

How long is the downtime? That depends on the business’ schedule.
What is the cost of having downtime? That is for the vehicle owner to determine.

The idea is to support a local business and prevent waste by recycling. This may not always be feasible. I was throwing out the idea for consideration.

I like that you want to try and prevent waste, but you might as well throw that idea aside on this site. Folks around here replace pristine parts all day everyday just to color match and such. Not to mention driving v8 lifted trucks to take the kids to school and go to work. Just a reminder.

What I wanted to know was the cost of getting springs rearched, and how long it took... a day, week, month? If they cold set them, you should be able to make an appointment and have it done in a day. If they heat treat them, it would take longer.

I’ve had springs re-arched/modified a few times. Cost was $500-$600, dropped off vehicle and picked up same day. Last time was 2 years ago, so the price of steel and everything else has gone up, would expect price to reflect that.

If it's much more than that, might as well buy a new pack.

Went a different route here, put on the RAS HD kit and the Yellow Sumo springs to prevent my Dobinson's springs from getting flattened to begin with. So far, working well, and I think it will last for a long time.

Depends on how much weight you add! JK, about 6.5" from the top of the leaf pack to the weight bearing surface. From there, they are easily cut with a hand wood saw like a stiff back miter saw or even a bread knife would work.

I think I will end up using these “newer” OEM leafs with rubicon greaseable bushings and then set my Toytec shackles for the 1.5” lift.
I don’t think I will benefit from a set of Timbren or Sumo Springs - right now - but may upgrade in the future.

The only thing I would be concerned about—as a fellow OEM spring pack user—is the longer distance from your frame to your bump stops due to the Toytec shackles. Extra travel means extra inverting of the spring pack which leads to faster wear. I would at least do some kind of extended bump stop to make up for the added height from the Toytecs. Bump stops are cheap.

^^^ This. Wish it was more universally known. Spring packs have a limited range where they can flex and still last a long time.
