So Id like to make or get a first gen 4x4. The one I have has the supercharger and 60k miles on it so Id like to keep the engine.

I've been reading about the 4x4 conversion and am abit hesitant to try that.

I currently am looking at a 2003 Single cab 4x4 with a new frame and a stock engine.

So i guess the question is is it easier to swap the cabs SC to AC and engine or swap the RWD and 4x4 drivetrains?

I know you guys have the answer :) ! Entertain me!

Why would going from Reg cab to AC make a difference for the same engine & SC?

I can’t comment on the 4wd changeover but I would definitely consider an LSD rear end.

well the current donor I'm looking at is a SC without a bed so I'm not sure if an AC with the standard bed fits onto the same frame or not

The AC cab and bed are not going to fit on the single cab frame if that’s what you’re asking. The frame is meant to take an 8-bolt 8’ bed where the AC is 6-bolt 6.5’ bed for one thing.

@MrDirtjumper swapped his to 4wd. He doesn't come around much but I'm pretty sure he has a build thread.

What’s the wheelbase on both of the trucks? If the wheelbase is the same, you have a better chance of making it work.
