Looks great against the MGM color. I’m a little concerned how they will look against WCP.

Just like any running board I reckon. With the WCP you'll have the Star Wars Storm Trooper look going on. Throw some black wheels on her and intimidate everyone on the road:D

Which finish did you go with? Any pictures of where the manual override switch gets installed? Did you buy direct - $1600?

Yours has 3 motors? Is it a newer model? 2022 version just has 2 motors

Correct. Two motors on each side. Three brackets.

Yes I bought direct from GoRhino. Manual switch is on the underside of the dash above the gas pedal. Went with the powder coated finish and not the bedliner finish

If you dont mind, can you tell me how many inches does the step end up below door? I'm still undecided because I feel like I may need amp xl with extra 3" drop cause I'm planning on 6" lift with 37s.

Is there an option to keep them open/down when parked at a parking or whatever, potentially to help from dings.

Seeing all the different options available now, maybe I should of waited to buy OEM. They are still in boxes.

The oem ones are really nice , the test drive truck had them when I took one out. The advanced package was a must have for me so mine has that coming

When I bought my Tundra a couple weeks ago they had a pre-owned Capstone CM short bed in the showroom that had these. I opened the driver door to take a look inside and the board extended. Agree it is a very nice feature. Went back 2 days ago to pick up my plates and that truck was still there. If it had been a long bed I would have given it some consideration but you always have to wonder what's up with such a new vehicle being turned in so soon.

Plus the capstone is a rip off, it’s way more money than a platinum and you get a panda bear interior and laminated side windows, oh boy

Well, it wasn't an option for my truck. SR5. I bought all the comments from Toyota, minus a wiring harness I'll have to make. Ya Capstone seems to much of a premium for what you get.

Nice, shouldn't be too hard an installation. Only hard part is finding the door trigger wires and figuring out how much of the interior needs to be disassembled in the process to run the harness and make those connections. The board mechanical install itself should be easy.

And don't forget it more chrome and the 22" wheels... Then Panda Bear interior is a different leather-ish material than the Platinum as well. $10 difference, nope, not going to do it.

The thing about OEM vs aftermarket, is the OEM comes with the power bed-step. If you compare the powered bed step to the manual, there is about a 6" drop difference. The manual is lower and makes for 22" stretch from step to tailgate and 13.5" off the ground. Where the powered is nearly centered at 16" between ground and step with an 16" also between the step and tailgate. I have had both, manual on 22 Tundra DC TRD-OR with TRD Lift and now 23 Tundra Plat w/ adv package and powered running boards w/ powered bed-step.

Ya, the boards and motor are a cinch. I put Amp steps on both my other Tundras. I'm more concerned on these because it has its own ECU that is also tied to the truck. I hope my truck doesn't have to be flashed to recognize the steps. I can't remember but I think someone said there's info about the steps in the cluster. Maybe just the hybrids though.

Nope, nothing in the cluster for the running boards on the Hybrid.

I perused the install instructions for the GoRhino electric boards. These at least seem to have no interface with truck computers. They have a controller module and +12v and ground for main power and connections to the door circuits to sense door open and close position. Maybe you could obtain one of these harnesses and make it work by changing the connectors.

I think the OEM boards retract if the truck is put in gear.

The only one I have seen was that Capstone in the dealer showroom. That one lowered the boards when I opened the door, and raised them when I shut it. Not to say it doesn't do other things with them as well when it's running. Although when you think about it there is no reason for the boards to take any action other than from the doors. If a door is open on one side the boards on that side should be down. And if shut, then the boards should be raised.

So you installed factory running boards and did away with the ECU for them?
